The issue with the head ware was almost certainly...

The issue with the head ware was almost certainly poor people, skimping on maintenance for an engine that revved to 14K since 1984 ! They need to be looked after with quality oil & regular oil...

Well I'm still here, the bike is too. But I never got round to finishing the big bore, as I'm now building a 300 based big bore 315cc using new gen cylinders bored to 64mm with ZZR600 pistons.

The Pre-gen 250 has always had 12.5:1 SCR. Running 10.6:1 DCR.

The 300 because it was sold in South East Asia as well...
