Pat,

When I was trying to zero in on what pressures worked for me, I started out on the high side and progressively dropped the pressures a few PSI at a time and rode the bike between each drop. It took me a couple of days as you want to set the tire pressures when the tires are cold for a common reference point.

I kept adjusting the pressures until I felt the bike tires felt "mushy" then went back up a PSI or two and used that.

I was looking primarily for road feedback through the bars/pegs that I could use that would enable me to know what the bike was doing under me. Once I could no longer feel the road or it started to feel "muted", I called that "mushy". After you get the pressures "right", the bike feels like an extension of your body.

What you finally decide on (what's "right" for you) has many variables... tire brand/model, bike setup, road surface makeup, intended use of the bike, rider weight, etc.

In the end, I can feel the difference in a few PSI... obviously, so can you.
