One of the things that make it difficult to have the same feeling from body position is the much wider midsection on a SS inline four. It splays the legs out and bit and kinda forces you to grip more with your legs.
Six of one half a dozen of the other. An hour or two on my 6R and I curse it for my back and wrists, riding the ninjette aggressively I wish I had a bit more to latch on to (I have clip ons, rear sets, increased rear ride height with links, and lowered forks on the ninjette)
