Sorry, you are correct, they fire 180 degrees apart; hence they follow a #1 - #2 sequence.
Red goes to both
(connected to the lower tag in both coils).
Black goes to coil #1 (left when seating in the bike).
Green goes to coil #2 (right when seating in the bike).
The ignition system is a "wasted spark" type.
