We bought the bike with 1000 miles on it, and the tires (OEM Dunlop GT501's) looked brand new; the first rider was a newbie and was clearly very gentle with the bike. I got 3500 miles out of that set before they were well past the wear bars on the rear and pretty close on the front as well, so the odo was at 4500 miles at that point.

I replaced them with Sport Demons, which I greatly preferred BTW, and got about 3000 miles on the rear before having to change it out to another Sport Demon. Front still looks fine, and will probably go to 5k before needing a replacement.
