My stock IRC rear will not last past 3500 miles, if that, before wearing into the wear bars, and that's a mix of Arkansas/Southern Missouri twisties and flat Illinois roads.

I am going with the Avon RoadRiders next for a trip out west in a few weeks.

Just keep these things in mind when comparing tires, even on the same model bikes:

Rider weight plays a HUGE role in tire wear, along with a load weight like bags and/or a passenger.

Tire pressures, heat from the road, heat generated by faster than legal speeds and even how you launch the bike from stops is going to wear tires differently from person to person, despite having the same year/color 250. Hard braking will wear fronts (and rears) funny compared to someone who coasts to a stop more. Riding interstate all the time versus riding twisties all day, every day will change how long a tire lasts.

Also, the roads you ride on in your area play a contributing factor...Concrete, asphalt, chipseal with limestone or chipseal gravel/pea gravel and chipseal with cinders will eat a tire differently with every surface.

So, it's all subjective, just like oil/tire pressure/chain lube, etc...
