I wear a dark smoke or iridium visor and always carry a clear visor in a Shield Sak. It's a pouch you sling over your shoulder and wear inside your jacket that holds the spare visor. It weighs nothing (the shield curves around your ribs so you hardly know it's there), but it's saved my ass a few times when I was too busy riding and got caught out after dark.
