Need help putting lower cowling back on
I think that's the part. It's the black plastic trim directly above the front wheel fairing.
I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be using bolts or those rubber grommets. I had to take all the fairings off after a crash and now I'm reassembling the front. The side fairings are both off. I'm now left with a bunch of those skinny bolts with plastic washers, several bigger bolts, and the bigger grommets that connects the side fairings underneath the bike. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't there two sets of grommets, one large and one significantly smaller? So would those be the ones that connect the lower cowling to the upper front fairing?

Ok, if I understand right you are talking about the radiator cowling (black piece that covers from under the headlight to the insides of the lower fairings, right?)
 The 6 skinny plastic rivets are what go on the sides to connect the lower fairings and under the headlight.  There are two larger bolts that connect the back of it to above the radiator.  Then there are two smaller bolts that connect the lower part to inside the lower fairings.

Oh mah word....That post definitely helped me out. Thanks so much.
It made me realized I am indeed missing the grommets/ rivets. Damn though, I don't know how I misplaced those.

Ah ha, found that last picture. Grrr one would think companies would supply pics of the parts but NOOOOO :rollseyes:
There are so many little parts that when I remove anything, I either use little ziploc bags (if the whole bike is coming apart) or make sure I put the pieces into little piles next to the part I removed. Trouble is I've done it so many times, I pretty much have those stupid things memorized. LOL

Ive got a big bag of those plastic pop rivets. Could have thrown some in with that front fairing stay if I had known you needed em. Sorry

I've discovered using the child meal plates that have the divided spaces are the best for keeping track of my bike parts. They have the trays for $1 at Target and each tray has 4 pockets. Easy peasy to label them with masking tape and a permanent marker. Need to store it for a bit? Cover with plastic wrap and tape down. Works well for our garage with multiple bikes being worked on.
