Can I go wrong with just a CAN?

I talked about rejetting my bike and placing a pod filter on it. What if I just leave that alone and put a Slip-on Exhaust or Full Exhaust on it? Would I still have to rejet it? And where can I find an exhaust system or slip-on dirt cheap? Thanks for your help.

I love Afghanistan.................. NOT!

Generally speaking, you can usually add a slipon without rejetting.

With that being said, unless it's been properly dyno-tuned, the carbs probably need some attention anyway; bikes come from the factory set up for emissions, not ideal power delivery.

ebay, probably.

If it were me, though, I'd save up and get a full system; I just installed the Area P on my racebike, and it looks pretty boss.

I have the HMF carbon fiber slip on, and I love it! it sounds awesome! I think i got it for like $250 (I didn't rejet/ shim or anything, i still want to get good mpg)
But if I have a "rewind button" I'll get this instead http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YOSHI...Q5fAccessories

How long have you had it on and have you had any problems without jetting or shim? Does it pop or backfire? That Yoshi is nice but if I was to spend that kind of money on a slip-on I would buy a HR-1 exhaust. The are freaken sweet, and color coded!

You are going to get popping and backfiring with any exhaust. You have to block the kleen air system off

i kinda like the popping but some mornings when I start the bike it's gonna go like "POP!" but yeah. also this yoshi http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YOSHI...Q5fAccessories is a full system, not a slip on.

Even if the manufacturer say no rejet or shims needed, i.e. mgp growler, the bike will run even leaner and way hotter. Mine was running almost 300 degrees hotter at the header with my growler.

mmm interesting maybe that's why she gets hot really fast. but I'm not having any problems. (maybe it's time for me to shim the needles then)

IDK.. We put a 1 1/2" baffel in our 250, still have the kleen air hooked up. It doesnt pop like other 250's I have seen/heard.

I have a hollowed OEM pipe right now and I shimmed with #3 washers. Used 2 on each needle and now she is way more responsive.
