Wire going nowhere!

Hey, just joined the forum after recently passing my test and getting a Ninja 250.

Decided I'd clean it on Saturday and ended up taking the fairing off just so I knew how.

Anyway I stumbled upon a cable which isn't plugged into anything at the tail end of the bike (location circled in the picture). Any ideas what it's there for? It's yellow if that helps!

I was told by the agent that it was for diagnostics.

Yup that is the wire they(Kawasaki dealers) hookup to a signal lamp and read a code off it, to diagnose the bike. The different codes can tell you what is wrong with the bike. You can find what all the codes mean in the bike manual.

Edit. Congrats on the nice bike, and your license! Welcome to the forum.
