A spider potentially got inside my fuel tank

I was filling the bike up this morning and I saw a small spider crawling up my hand. I shook it off and after a few seconds realized that it could be inside my gas tank! This was once again early in the morning. I looked for a floating body since the tank was full and could not find anything. I looked around the bike and still no luck.

Should I be worried about this? I think I'm being paranoid here...sorry dudes.

To paraphrase a long-time poster here, I think you're right, the bike's toast. You should pack it up as best you can and ship it to me for safe disposal.

I wouldn't worry about it, if it is in the tank it's not going anywhere, and if it does go anywhere it will be picked up by the fuel filter.

I have no idea if it would have any negative effects (I'd guess not). However, as a spider-hater, I like the idea of one of the little suckers turning into exhaust.

LOL. love that pic!

About the only thing I can think of is that it will clog up the fuel filter.

Kinda funny as this reminds me I got a spider living in my tail (under pass seat)
can't find it to kill it, even had the whole thing stripped down to frame on Sunday

have you seen that movie "arachnophobia"? in a few days your gas tank is going to explode sending baby blackwidows in every direction.

Hoping your issue is a one off and not the start of a potential recall a la Mazda . These 8 legged creatures can actually make a fuel system go all buggered:

So far so good. Bike is running normal. Hopefully I was just being paranoid. Next time, I smash the bug for sure.

Thanks for all of the input guys. Much appreciated.

With the way a 250 sips gas, the spider will be melted long before the tank goes empty.
