My Blue 2009 Build

Well I'v decided to start modifying my ninjette. My first order of business was the DIY fender chop.

When I first bought the bike the previous owner had just chopped it off below the plate.

I thought this was kind of ugly so I found an OEM fender off ebay for $20 and put that on.

Then I got to thinking and finished the job and just chopped the whole thing off.

My next project will be adding an Area P 12" stainless exhaust and the K&N pod filter. I'v already ordered them, just waiting on delivery.

In the future I'd like to add a double bubble, woodcraft clipons, rear sets, honda cbr250r rear tire hugger, and maybe a 15t sprocket.

Great job bruh, bike looks great. I also have the semi-chopped fender and will be going 'full' as soon as I receive my integrated tail lights. Your license plate is a bit too vertical for my liking though...I'm looking into ways of bending the brackets for when I do mine. Keep @ it!

It's too vertical for my liking as well. I tried bending the 79 cent brackets I got from Ace but they are pretty tough. I'll probably bend them next time I'm over at my parents place. My dad probably has something that will do the job.

Where's your light for the rear plate? Do you just not ride around at night?

I'll be adding some bolt lights eventually. But as it is I don't really ride at night right now. The temperature is still dropping into the high 20s low 30s at night.

Just an FYI, the running light does provide some (read: barely) light for the plate. I had run mine without a plate light for a few months and it was never an issue here. I conjured up some plate lights though, for safety sake.

Ugh, went to put the pipe on today and the headers don't fit onto the motor. The holes are off by a degree or so. I struggled with it for over an hour and finally gave up for fear of stripping the bolts and not being able to get the stock headers back on.

Ha, thanks! My positive came undone from my battery while riding the other day, I had to stop and fix it. It's a good thing we have tools under the rear seat.

Some photos of myself wasting time putting the K&N into my bike, as I put the air box back in. I didn't want to remove the kleen air yet until I get the exhaust on. On the good side it only took me 4 hours to do.

Just got installed yesterday, the replacement went on so much easier. I still need to jet the bike though. I'm getting a ZG double bubble tomorrow. I was gonna go shoot a couple of photos after I put that on.

Put the DB on today... it's great the wind protection is so much better than stock. The only problem, my bottom right well nut broke. So I only have three bolts holding the windscreen on for now.

Did you ever get some bolt lights for your plate? I got some blue LEDs at this auto parts store (had a cigarette lighter plug) but I cute the wires & spliced them into where the stock ones went...doesn't provide as much light as I'd like but it's neat :P

Most laws requiring plate lights also specify specifically that the must be white.

Additionally, many states have laws against having blue lights anywhere on/in a vehicle (impersonating police by replacing your interior light with a blue bulb ).

Yes, here it's only having them on the front of a vehicle (as it would appear if you were ahead of them looking behind), anywhere else is fine as long as it's not flashing.

Anyways, I have led (white) plate bolts on the way just in case.

I attempted to install the jet kit myself, but as it turns out I wasn't up to the task. After installing it the bike wouldn't start, so I cut my loses and had it towed to the shop.
