White Racing Stripes on Blue Ninja

Got bored last night and started working on it thinking that it would only take a few hours.

After 6 hours of removing fairing, cleaning, prepping, designing, cutting, and applying; here it is.

Took much longer than I thought it would.

6 hr of putting on white decals? Yikes!

Looks good on the ground but does it flow with it on the bike? That's the question.

Basically copied.

6 hours is including not having any experience in applying vinyl bigger than 4 sq. inches. I am sure if anyone have experience in applying vinyl on complex and compound curves will understand where that 6 hours come from. 6 hours is start to finish, not just applying. Thanks for the complement!

I've been looking for those stripes
Seen them on YouTube and Google images
Did you get white vinyl and make them or is it a kit

That is the best looking blue Ninja I've ever seen. Great work!

A little tease... I have no garage thus I take parts off of the bike and work in the living room. It was pretty cold outside. Upgraded the rear tire to 150/60.

Great job and looks awesome. I've been waiting for a kit like this. Did you create a template or just apply, heat, fold and cut the vinyl to fit? Definitely post some pics with different angles when you're done.

I can't recall if the pic you posted is vinyl or paint (seen it before), but hope yours looks close.

BTW, if you're going to stripe the face then you should also stripe the tank and cowl, when you get one, to match. It'll look totally custom. Again, awesome job!

From my experience working on this, there will never be a kit. If there is going to be ond all it is just vinyl that is simply cut in approximate size that you have to apply and will have to trim on bike.

If you ever have wrapped anything with vinyl which is entirely different from applying a decal then you would understand. Having complex and compound curves and trying to cover them with a big piece of vinyl requires stretching thus causing the edges to not lines up perfectly and requires trimming.

I also just finished wrapping a helmet with CF vinyl. I have learned quite a bit about wrapping.

I finished putting the fairing back on along with the new exhaust. Will post pics this weekend.

Thanks. I've applied vinyl kits before using a spray bottle, some soapy water and a heat gun. Compound curves are PITA. Patience and the right amount of pressure helps. Look forward to seeing the pics.

Thanks guys!

Here is my latest little wrapping project.

Any thing on the bike you like to see wrapped in white or CF?

WOW!! looking good!!!

I like the helmet, and I really like the bike. It's very unique and different without looking squidly. I would definitely say get the cowl and continue the pattern on the cowl to complete the look

I almost bought that kit but decided to do my own.

White on blue goes well IMO.
