did i get the right chain lube?

I bought some chain lube online. It was in the motorcycle part of amazon, so I figured it was OK. It arrived today, and I was reading the label. it says its for chain driven machinery, not specifically a motorcycle. Its silicone free, if that matters.

Probably just fine. Heck, one can even use 90 wt oil. Chains aren't fussy (if you're not fussy about cleanup).

I'm not an expert but it's probably fine.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will weigh in soon.

Great stuff last a while and teflon keeps dirt from sticking to your chain.

Chains for those applications do not use O-ring seals.

I have the same stuff, I'm not sure why it doesn't call out Motorcycle on the can, but on their website it's the #1 listed use:

Funny..but also could be true.

The early Excelsior as well as other early motor cycles had 2 chains. One for the peddling. .the other for the motor.

It's been on there for about a month now and the chain/o rings haven't come flying off. So I'm gonna mark this one down as a win.

I think he wants to communicate.

A-hem: "chain"
