Question Pedantic Post: EX250KB

My manual for my 2011 250r says "EX250KB" on the back. I thought it was an EX250-J... although I did learn that from wikipedia.

"K" obviously comes after "J", so do you think my 2011 bike is considered a new generation/platform?

I just want to understand exactly what bike it is so if I'm talking to technical types I can give them accurate info.

I was under the impression that "250R" was only used to refer to the new shape (2008+), but on wikipedia it says that some third generation bikes were referred too as GPX-250R, so it sounds like they are 250Rs too.

I bet this is all the fault of the marketing people! The engineers probably have a consistent naming scheme set up that the marketing people have gone and pee'd on. The kawasaki.co.uk doesn't seem to have any information.

Thoughts?

Aren't the J version the carbed bike and the K version the FI bike? Not new generation, but different version than ours and existed since 08.
