12 volt always hot?

So i bought a 12 volt power adapter with an inline fuse and i know the accessorie's wires are always hot. Im not the best at electrical, but does that mean if i leave my phone charger hooked up to the outlet with the bike off. Without the phone being plugged in will that drain the battery?

As long as the phone is not plugged in you will be fine.

Are you two sure? Most phone chargers step the voltage down from 12v to 5v. That transformer always takes some energy, whether a phone is hooked to it or not. If it's on a hot lead that's always on, I would think that it would drain the battery, if only a small amount.

most of these car chargers use SS voltage regulators. no current draw = no drain on power supply.
