little noise when braking

I hear a slight scraping noise when I apply my brakes. They are definitely NOT worn down. The bike only has 1200 miles. Sounds kinda like there is a piece of paper stuck in between the rotor and pad, but there isn't. Only hear it when brakes are first applied then goes away as bike comes to a stop. Is this normal?

Try cleaning them. Not sure what it is though, maybe others have some ideas.

Also I don't know if it can happen on our bikes, but you could have a cracked brake pad.

im a noob to motorcycles but on cars that can be normal. you live in 1 a very humid area and 2 your temp flucuates 20+ degrees a day (meaning it can be upper 70s in the morning and lower 100s in the afternoon.) what the translates is to the brake pads expanding and contracting a lot and consequently allowing moisture in between the space made, which can lead to slight squealing while initially breaking.....i think

ne whoo it doesnt sound like anything to be worried about. you could always check your roters for big grooves and check the brake pads for the indicators showing.

on my bike, ive noticed a slight noise coming from the front brakes, when i apply them! its sounds like a tiny FAN spinning... not a sqeaking noise, no issues with the cooling fan either. front rotors look good, front pads look good. i think my noise is normal, nutin' obliously sounds grinding,scrapping,etc... lol

this kinda sound is yours? it only happens when i apply the front brakes, around low speeds... say under 30mph! its not the front axle bearing Seal sqeak weve all hear b4

Yes! the same noise! kinda like a when you lightly touch the blades of a fan while it's running. I only hear it at low speeds I guess, but maybe at higher speeds I wouldn't hear it anyway cause of wind noise.

I get this too on my '03, only at low speeds. My research has indicated it's normal, since modern road brake pads contain metal mixed in as well to help give it some durability, so you're getting a bit of metal-on-metal action and this causes the scraping sound. You can get pure rubber brake pads but they'll wear out before you know it.

Just make sure you're not hearing HARD scraping like when your "brakes" (or what used to be your brakes) are scoring your rotor lol!

Mine makes the the same noise but only at low speeds like others have noticed so it sounds like it is a normal thing.

Mine makes the fan noise as well, mine also squeal almost every time I use the front brake, but my pads are not worn down.
