Tell me about your seat?
I just bought a 2010 250r and I have only put 100 miles on it. this is only my second bike and it is y first NEW bike I wonder will the seat get more comfortable as it gets broken in? I have kind of a boney butt and am wondering if I should look at replacing the seats. Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank you, George |

The seat isn't going to get any more comfortable, but over time you may end up getting used to it anyway. Some folks have replaced their seats with aftermarket (search for Corbin), and others have reshaped the stock one with different foam.

I had my seat redone by an upholsterer that came highly recommended among bikers in my area. He shaved all the old foam and replaced it with 1" of more comfortable foam for $40. I had asked the diff about the gel and foam materials like memory foam and decided with the one he said would provide me with the best comfort. Found it helped if i wore padded bicycle shorts for long rides.
Ordered the Corbin for this year after only being able to ride a total of 4 hours before i couldn't ride no more. Finally came in the mail on Thursday but I won't have time to try it out for a few weeks though

Congrats on the Corbin ... blue. You'll enjoy the little difference in comfort level. Remember 1st you will think... hmmm I feel the difference buy its not huge... then 2nd give it a few weeks of riding and you're butt will get used to the product or the product gets used to your butt. Then you'll become "one" with that seat. I enjoy mine now but did take a little break in time

The seat doesn't get any softer, but your ass will get harder. Put in a couple of 100+ mile days and ride every day of the week, and you'll get to the point that you don't even notice the uncomfortable seat.

You'll get used to it. Hang in there.
It was the same on my old GSXR and my R6. Not so much the GSXR though actually. That thing was pretty comfy. Here's me posting in 2005 that my R6 was painful. Sorry, I didn't punctuate or spell correctly back then. lol http://www.r6-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20193

The corbins are much more firmer than stockers, I had one on my SV and loved it to death...i will prob get one for the ninjette too. The thing about the corbin was that it was shaped different, I never had a problem with long day rides on it but it was damn firm.

Keep at it.
After a while you'll be able to sit on it all day no extra padding. Promise.
