Ninjette Member of the Month! - December 2012 (Motofool)

Why don't we have another one of these for December. To be on the ballot, you need to be in the top 10 of posts for the past month. I'm excluded, as is anyone who has won in the past 12 months. The current listing is always up here: top posters, under the quicklinks menu.

The criteria to win is up to the voter. Most helpful, least helpful, least annoying, most annoying, best avatar, it's open season. Winner gets to choose a privilege that I can reasonably fulfill. Larger avatar size? Want to auto-welcome newbies? More PM space? Special phrase under username in addition to custom user title? Skies the limit, as long as it doesn't cost anything, and I can code it in 8 minutes or less.

Enjoy!

Mentions so they are all aware of this thread:
@lgk @Jiggles @rojoracing53 @Old Guy on a '08 @choneofakind @Joshorilla @Motofool @himynameisjoe @NevadaWolf @lolibater

Busy being pumped and dumped by a retailer through the holiday season all while my employer of 13 years stood by and allowed it. It's deplorable. The client isn't supposed to be choosing which contracted employee they'd like to keep after a holiday hour/manpower boost, especially when my employer had told me the permanent position was mine (sent me there right as they were removing the other guy). I didn't leave my permanent post back in September for a temporary post just to slave through the holidays with 15 hours on my feet every day and no job when it was all over with.

It's called "co-employment" when the client makes hiring and firing decisions for the service provider (my employer) and they lose their legal isolation from liability. Not my problem anymore, but they'd better tread lightly. I've worked two graveyard posts since then that were many times longer away and probably only pay minimum wage, so they're going to be looking at an unemployment claim soon if they don't turn up something better.

/rant

Edit: Back at 40 hours. Long commute, but I'm happy.

I think school is kicking Chode's butt recently, but hopefully his profs allow him some more bike time in the near future.

I am honored of having been considered for this and grateful of everyone who voted in this thread.

Being at the end of my riding career, I have been happy contributing to this forum formed mainly by young riders of an entry level sport bike.

If we save a preventable crash, open eyes to the joy of riding, or teach a mechanical trick, we all win.

I've been on break from school, so I took some time off to enjoy being home while it lasted I got some work in on the ninjette and got some good road biking and running in as well which was a nice break because I love the parks around where my parents live. No worries, I'm still alive and well.

but yeah, Diff EQ kinda kicked my butt last semester. Round 2 this semester baby!!

Damn! You still got plenty of ridding years left! Just try to put those last years where you're ridding your Goldwing Trike out of mind for now! They're still at least 5 years off

5years???? I certainly hope not. I just turned 62.5 on the eight (would've been my old man's 100BD) and I hope I've got a lot more than 5year left.

I've got a friend in Wilmington that turn 96 last NOV. Still walks the dog every morning... cooked breakfast for me... That how i want to get old... that and riding...

My dad used to say... I want to die when I'm 85, shot by a jealous husband. What I hope one of my friends say at my funeral is "LOOK ;eek: HE'S MOVING!!!"

If I ever get old (sure hope not!) then I will keep riding. My only hope is that my obituary will read, after 88 years of life, Jiggles died when he lost control of his motorcycle in excess of 180mph at seats point and crashed into a wall. He was riding the fastest 250 ever created

That is a very good one.

Thanks for your encourage, guys; however, my problem is not age related.

Follow the link (special for @akima):

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...000-miles.html

I have had a neurological problem that deteriorates my hearing and balance senses, slowly but surely.

I know that in some time from now, I will not be able to properly keep the balance on any bike.

Riding something like a trike doesn't appeal to me: if I cannot lean a bike......

I have been doing mechanic work and riding many types of motorcycles, including sidecars, since I was 12.

It has been half a century of pure joy; that is what I would like to motivate many young people to live.

Again, thank you all.

Sorry jiggles; you're going to have to get passed at least 209MPH to have the worlds fastest ninjette.

Thanks for your encourage, guys; however, my problem is not age related.

I heard about that guy a while ago. Impressive stuff.

So sorry to hear that you may be unable to ride in the coming years. I hope you make the most of your current riding time.

Congrats on getting member of the month! You earned it. I love having you around here.

Yes, that is why I ride everyday.

That is a motorcycle with too much windshield and too many rear tires.

I like the simplest machines: two wheels and two-stroke engine.............either that or nothing.........

Thanks, Teri

agreed, though it looks like it'd be really really fun to drive. One of those "Never going to get it" dream toys.

Ah well, stay on two wheels as long as possible!
