Does your bike have a name?

Our ninjette "Yoshi" is named after a magical green steed.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoshi_(Nintendo_character)

There's got to be other folks out there that have names for their bikes. What are the names and details??

Only when it is broken down. Luckily that is not very often but it does happen. Then those sweet names seem to just fly out of my mouth.

Tyke.

She was in the garage next to a Busa, Kawai 10K, and a Ducati 990. All big boys, all bigger than she is and poof... There was the little tyke right in the middle of 'em

Shortly after I got the bike, some friends invited me to go on a 1200 mi. tour to the Gaspe Peninsula in Quebec. I think it was because I spoke French--not because I had a particularly fast bike. One was a 600cc Honda Sport Bike and the other was an 1100cc BMW. No problem keeping up. Anyway we stopped at a Motel and the woman at the desk remarked that the green bike looked like a frog. My Ninjette has since been named Kermit.

My old 600's name was the GoofTwo. the fairing had 600F2 written on it but the font simply looked like GOOF2. Not really original but everyone I rode with took to it as well.

My 250RR is just called screamer. Not an original name either but suits the astronomical tachometer and sound of the motor.

The Ninja 250 honestly doesn't have a name.

i dunno. i've always kinda thought as my toys as being like a buddy. after a rad session on the dirtbike i pat it on the seat and say "nice job dude!". i use to do the same to my car after autocrossing and stuff.

or if i just rammed it into a tree i might rub it on the tank and say sorry

my family never really gave our toys/vehicles names though... other than what they were. no real names. we had "the comet" which was a 64 super cyclone mercury comet. the "Mr. Build" which was an old work truck my dad bought that the previous owner put a mr. build decal on the door. "Ol' Blue" is a blue 86 chevy pickup that i bought a few years back to haul bikes around in. one of my dirtbikes is called "the KDX" and the other is "the DR".... etc.

I've been trying to decide on a name for mine for the last few months.
It's harder than i thought it would be, so there's still no decision yet.
Will update when I make up my mind on a real name,
but thus far it's just been "the 250" , like Broom's...

LuckyDog, that's awesome! I LOVE that

A lot of it has to do with the language you grew up speaking. In Russian motorcycle is a masculine noun, though I don't have a nickname for it anything I'd end up calling it would have to be masculine to keep with the gender of the noun.

I would have to say that sometimes it comes down to gender of the owner. Most guys consider their vehicles and computers to be female... Some woman of course consider those things male.

I on the other hand am not gender specific. Tyke is female. Zumo (my garmin) is a guy... We argue a lot. He froze on me Saturday! The fiend.

This only works in English because English nouns are not gender specific when you say cat you can refer to both a male and female cat. In other languages though nouns are locked into a specific gender, so again say in Russian cat is a feminine noun so even when referring to a male cat the noun is still feminine.

I am confused by that last bit "In Russian cat is a feminine noun so even when referting to a male cat the nown is still feminine" but really that is okay I barely get by in English.

I was just pointing out that there was another way to look at it that had nothing to do with languages.

Few heard the story before, the 250r got his name on the showroom floor. Wife said his name is "Marvin"

So I put a sticker on her windscreen, no mistaking it now

I keep referring to mine in my head as Sable... but it's just so cheeze and unoriginal that I can't bring myself to make it permanent.

And yet a year later, she's still called Sable.
