08 dies on idle now, is the carb cleaning covered in warranty?

k learned my lesson of course after the issue, so I found out since my bike has been without riding for four months I should have had a full tank of gas with sta-bil in it...

Bought my used 08 in May and had it sit in the garage until I can get my permit, registration and insurance covered. June I did the oil change to mobil 40t full synthetic. Every Sunday when I visited my parents (where the bike is stored for now in their garage) I'd turn the engine over and let it idle for 5 minutes no problems. Meanwhile I kept it on stands and a battery charger.

Planned on riding it this weekend but after start the engine dies on idle. Only full choke will allow the engine to run, any slight decrease of choke or cutting high rpm throttle with choke off will kill the engine.

I had only half tank of fuel, so carbs probably need cleaning along with another oil change, change fuel filter, etc.

Is this (besides oil change) covered under the extended warranty? My mechanic experience is very limited so the shop will have to check it out, any idea of cost if not covered?

Also I have a 2bros slip on exhaust which sounds very rough...popping sounds and seems maybe rejet or screws need adjusting

Thanks

Note that cleaners will make the bike run lean until that tank is gone.

Check these threads for possible explanations and solutions.
Question though: Have you or anyone made sure the valves were adjusted to specification. They are the 8-chambered heart of the 250. If something is out-of-whack in the valve-train, the Ninjette has an stroke.

red x might work ,it aint that hard to get the carbs out and give the jets a blow just be careful that you dont loose the bits (first option put 5 or6 ml of red x down your fuel in pipe, pop it back onto the tank clean all spilt petrol off ,push start button a couple of times to draw the red x into the carbs leave it for 10-15 mins then fire the bike up .this worked for me .The hardest bit of doing the carbs is getting to them

Your pilot jets are plugged. Cali gas will plug them after 2 weeks of sitting. The bike needs to be started at least once a week and idled for a few minutes.
