Throttlemeister installed

Got it installed...expensive as hell...but works good for long distances. Prob need to get it powdercoated though.

A pic of Daytona and steering damper

Rear end showing BM taillight

side shot showing new Akra Ti/CF tip, CF rear hugger, monster decals

Front

and finally..."Is it a 600?"

while i'm at it...a couple shot of the throttle "ziptie" mod...i use pcv instead..currently installed is a thinner (filed down) pcv) but I think I can squeeze by with full size one since I removed the "push" cable...so here it is..bought a new tube off ebay and give it a try

What did it cost, if I may ask? I opted for the vista universal throttle lock which was $30 and a breeze to install. Nice looking bike btw. BLK FTW

Thanks...
Aluminum foil is actually the sunshade cut out behind the underseat side panel cover. that area gets hot without the airbox and my thigh is on fire doing the summer. Kinda like reflective insulation. That takes care of the heat issue

Looking slick!

Interesting front blinkers; looks like the lens goes all the way around for rear visibility/more side vis?

Also, I gotta ask, what's the off/on switch on the left bar for?

Does anyone have the hyperpro damper. Im thinking of ordering one, its active adjustable and a bolt on with no welding. Pretty much identical to the Ohlins dampers.

I was also wondering this. Also doesnt the Daytona gauge have a clock in it? Why the extra one?

Looking good though.

Thanks for the compliment guys. I'm trying to not mod this bike anymore. But I've been modding the 600 a lot...need to stop

the little switch (yellow) up front is switching map for the BRT TIS (CDI) I got from ztrack157. Off is map 2 (aggressive) and On is map #1 (conserv).
Gear is changed...15 up front and 42 rear. Tires are stock Dunlop 501. Chain is stock. Rear hugger is bought off Ebay from Scotts. It's the new style CF one.
Daytona gauge does have the clock in it but it only switch to clock when bike is off. You can manually press the button for it to switch to clock but kinda hard to do with glove on. I have an extra small clock so I can see both time/temperature at the same time.
Regarding HyperPro damper...i recommend you to only go with Scotts or Ohlins. HyperPro and some other lower end tends to "leak" after some use. Pricewise, if you look, they are close to Ohlins/Scotts (just a tad cheaper). I would shell out a few more dollars. You really don't need a steering damper for this little 250 but for track or aggressive driving, it's nice to have "just in case". If you have a headshake before, you will get a damper cuz you'll never want to experience it again...yes I did $hit in my pant

i thought the off/on was the other way around.....when my switch is in off....the BLUE light on the CDI is off....when the switch is on the blue light is on which I thought indicated MAP 2.

250fan: no, map one is when the thing is closed loop which same as "on". I tested with voltmeter.

Sixer: no damper for 07 600rr or later since it has hesd already. However I've seen racer mod the pre07 bracket to mount ohlins or scotts there (with HESD taken out)

When mine is closed loop, the blue light is on. I thought the blue light indicated MAP two....or the performance map. The blue light is near the other two lights on the actual CDI.

Awesome! I am considering a Throttlemeister as well. Did you get the light or heavy one, and are you happy with your choice?

Since you ditched the vista, may I presume you were not happy with it?

Yeah the TM serves as heavy bar ends to elim vibration and cruise control. The vista takes up grip space and the cruise control doesn't work as well (it slips)

I was only doing 90mph when It happened to me on a gsxr. I don't see why it can't happen on the 250..

My Vista slipped a fair bit at speed til I got it 'bedded in' and adjusted the tightening screws a couple times. Haven't had to mess with it since and it only moves when I want it to. The grip real-estate hasn't bothered me yet as I've fairly small mitts.

Still liking the TM?

I have a set of these also on my 08 ninja I installed about a year and a half ago they work awesome as long as you shim and adjust them properly. They have longs and shorts I got the longs and the good thing about them is this one night at bike night at a local place I came out to find that someone had knocked their bike over and caused about 5 bikes to fall. The throttlemeister long with my steering wheel locked and falling to the right hand side was long enough that it held the entire bike up off the ground. The only scuff I had was on the end of the bar weight and a small scuff on the muffler heat shield part between the can and fairing. There was also a piece of bubble gum on the bar end from the ground =P. It actually hit so hard it bent the handle bar to where the throttle tube would not turn. Also mine are polished and I have never waxed them or anything and they still look new. So if you get them I recommend the longer ones for bike protection and also less handle bar vibration(it's also easier to engage them and disengage them with the longer ones).

I'm thinking about finally ordering that throttlemeister for my birthday next week. Since you have had yours on your bike for a while now, do you still love it?
There are other things I could get instead that have been on my wish list, but if it is all good the throttlemeister is at the top of my list right now.

yup...it's nice. It serves as heavy bar end to calm down the vibration and on long trip (highway) just set it and enjoy the ride. It's really nice to be able to hold the throttle and give your right hand a break.

Cool. I know you aren't in CA, so I don't know if you split lanes at all, but if you do, do you feel any less secure due to the length they add?

I faxed my order in yesterday, and haven't received confirmation yet. How long did it take you to receive yours when you ordered it?

Edit: NM, it was in my mailbox ALREADY! In 48hrs, they received my order, shipped it, and it got from WI to CA that fast.... impressive.
