That's cool. Very nice taillight.
Can you make the "signal" red too?

Supose i could do for a Large order, Although i dont see why you would want the Turn signal to flash red, like the brake light.. this could be confusing to other drivers and potentially dangerous.

The reason used Amber is to be obvious when you signal to turn, and to keep our Ninja Safe!

Thanx for the comment!

Where I live you can have Red or Amber in back and White or Amber in front. Check your local regulations.

not flashing red...have it all red so when I brake, I'll wired it all up as brakelight and have all lights up. I don't use the signal integrated into brake light..too confusing so instead of not using the "yellow"...turning the yellow into red brake light (brighter) would be sweet.

Ah, so u mean you will conect the left and right indicators up to eh Breaks.... ok i know what you mean..
Yes, it already does that, when you press the break ALL the led light up red.
If your indicating when breaking, thoes will go ambre, and not bright Red..

If you dont conect the signals, the signals lights will never go Ambre, and stay Super bright red..
No bulbs wasted when Applying breaks..

huh? come again?

What I'm trying to say is when you manufacture these lights, can you make a batch that instead of installing the yellow LEDs for the signals, you just install them with red LEDs like the brake "part" LEDs.

Hope you get it..don't make me bust out my Thai to explain this to you

Hey, can this tail light be used in conjunction with the stock rear blinkers as well?
(i.e. can you keep the stock blinkers and still use the tail light blinkers?)

Hi,

So it would be $60 for the LED Tail light and $20 to ship to the US for a total of $80?

Can LED tail light be used as just a brake light - so that the stock blinkers are the only ones to signal a turn?

Thanks!

Yes, you can just use it as brake like, very easy! you just dont plug the new signal lights in. your OEM will work as normal.
hope this helps!

Yes, if you pick that Cheaper shipping option, your totaly will be $80. but bare in mind the cheaper shiping option takes longer, and as long as your patient.. thats fine.

I received my tail light, Ill post pics soon... I did have a problem at first with making the light transition from running light to brake light. When I got it the only thing that worked were the running lights, even when I hit the brake.

I found that you need to switch the yellow and blue wires on the connector that comes with the light. After this the brake lights worked when I connected the light to the connector. Ill post pics later...

Is the undertail pictured Shinto? It looks like Hotbodies, but I'm looking for an altrernative that still reshapes the tail light similarly (matches the headlight and looks like older ZX-series).

Just for reference, these are not legal anywhere in the US, though enforcement may be lax in many places.

49 CFR Ch. V (10-1-03 Edition), §571.108, Table IV--Location of Required Equipment

Motorcycle Turn Signal Lamps-Rear-Location

At or near the rear-1 red or amber on each side of the vertical centerline, at the same height and having a minimum horizontal separation distance (centerline to centerline of lamps) of 9 inches. Minimum edge to edge separation distance between lamp and tail or stop lamp is 4-inches, when a single stop and taillamp is installed on the vertical centerline and the turn signal lamps are red. Minimum height not less than 15", nor more than 83".

Sure they are... if you leave your original turn signals installed.

The 88-07 Ninjette once had interated rear blinkers and more flush front signals but had to conform to law changes, ending up with the stalks that it had for the bulk of its lifetime.

The intent of this product is to allow elimination of the stock signal stalks. It wasn't a change of law that caused the US version of this bike to be sold with signal stalks, that law was in place at the time that bike was put into production. I'm guessing that the bike wasn't originally intended to be sold in the US market and when it was they added the stalks to comply to US law rather than retool for a whole different rear end just for this market.

Again, just pointing out that with the signal stalks removed this product does not make the bike legal to use on roads in this country. Enforcement is probably fairly slack but if an officer decides to write a ticket or an inspector fails the bike because of this product nobody will be to blame but the purchaser.

I remember the Altezza debacle a few years back. Altezza sold tens of thousands of non-DOT compliant tail light assemblies, typically the ones with clear lenses and chrome innards for use with red bulbs. Then one day DOT started cracking down on them because they were not legal. Hundreds of tickets were issued in this area alone, and any vehicle brought in for the mandatory annual inspection was automatically failed. Most owners had long since disposed of or sold their legal tail lights and were left with no option but to try to find new or used OEM lens assemblies. The junkyards around here were scoured clean.

Just putting this info out there for informed choice making.
