Looks great!

Details please

I assume you cut down the pivot point of the swinger, sunk the bearings further? Custom Pivot sleeve or drill out the frame for the gsxr pivot bolt?

How did you handle chain alignment?

Front triple looks exactly like the ex500 triple which is a bit longer than most, did you swap the stem into the gsxr triples or did you make a custom top nut?

Thanks
Bob

See, I would have....

Kept the 250 front end, kept the 250 swing arm, and wedged in the 600cc engine. Keep the bike a complete sleeper, and go look for victims.

lol, very nice work. looks cool.

Good job.

But with all those conversion parts why not just upgrade to a bigger bike?

It's like converting a Civic into a Ferrari minus the power.

Looks like he is overseas. A lot of guys over there can't easily get bigger bikes due to import regulations and taxes.

You might be out run by a bicycle though cause there's no way that thing would stay on two wheels.

Someone wedged a ex500 motor into an ex250 and it caused the lower fairing to spread a little. Imagine what an Inline 4 would do...

Anyway there is a reason they use thick perimeter frames for those inline 4s. They produce far more HP due to design than you get out of simply doubling displacement. An ex500 has somewhere near 50HP where as a modern 600 I4 has around 80-90. 100 extra CC's don't net almost double horsepower alone.

Based on what I have seen so far, the ex650 looks to be the largest engine that can be put into an ex250. But for what it would cost you are better off just getting an ex650.

Anyway, some food for thought.

Thank you all for the comments and compliments and critics..

bob138:
Details:

yes what you described is precisely how it goes, carved off a bit of the tip side for the swing arm to fit inside the 250 frame, about 2cm each sides.

for the pivot bolt yes it was a custom built for the Gixxer arm to fit the 250.

Chain alignment added about 0.5 cm to the front gear so the chain is now wider and straight with the rear gears. ill try to provide pictures soon.

front forks using all Gixxers, triple is gixxers as well and the top stem used the original 250 and swapped it to the gixxer, was a bit short but enough to get it locked.

ill try to provide and share more pictures on the mods.

cab305:
haha..would love to do that but its hard to find huge engines in our country.

Nemesis:
yes in the US understandings, it would be better to get a bigger bike, but in where i live, bigger bikes cost 2-3 times then what the normal price is..

a ZX6 would cost 29k,which is way ridiculous for a bike price
so, what we tend to do here in our region is we take OEM parts of bigger bikes from across the globe and try to get it shipped here in the most cheapest way....

250rStar: flickability? i used a 190-50 for the rear so i think its meant to be that way..(??)

thanks all for your time to give feedback, i appreciate it.

i meant it as it seems to me(could be wrong tho) like the smaller tire would be able to make the bike faster to maneuver from sided to side in the leans then the bigger tire would be thats all, again could be wrong, does the handling seem any different and if so how? don't get me wrong not trying to bash, it looks SICK and i bet all ur friends are envious! lol i know i would be haha

oh..ok. hehe i get it.

well maneuvering and handling has been great especially if you want to lean corners. well i was aiming towards a more of a sport bike feeling then the stock sport touring of a Ninja 250.
the riding position has changed a bit, so the handling has changed slightly as well, i dont know how to explain it, but since the front forks are lower and i tend to maneuver more with my body leaning left n right according to where i need go.
hope it explains a bit..sorry if it gets you confused...

Shorter forks steepened the rake which helps to compensate for the rear tire's turn in.

That rear could potentially be close to the weight of the stock, considering a lower profile tire and a supersport rim, which could be lighter than stock.

All in all. There is potential for equal handling, not exactly the same, but just as good with different quirks.

As for the importing parts, I post a lot on customfighters.com so I've bumped into some of the streetfighter crowd from overseas. I've seen some of the work they do with the same type of stuff. All in all, amazing. You guys must have been real happy that they redesigned the ninja 250s. Much better bike to start with for you guys I assume

I've got an 08 gsxr front end on my 08 250 too. Only need one caliper (braided line and HH pads), it's just a little lighter than the stock front end it's f'in god-like braking into turns on the track. Still no power though.. :P

My buddy Brian has a busa front end, same story.

Did you remove the second rotor too? Just planning and plotting at the moment but don't want to add weight.

Thanks

Yeah of course.

I have a single stainless Galfer brake line coming from the gsxr master cyl to a single caliper and rotor (I kept the right side) and I can practically do front flips under braking with just the one side. Ditch the 2nd set for sure.

From experience, Overseas there is a giant culture for the 125/150 and 400 class. Giant motorcycle clubs, especially for the 2-stroke Ninja 150 and the Super 4. Yes, I said 2-stroke Ninja. Do a search on KRR150ZX. I used to own one. Most fun on two wheels. Only in America is it beat into everyone's skulls that bigger is better. Here in Japan, the lower the cc's the cheaper tax/vehicle inspections and more parking options in a country where parking is difficult to say the least. Remember the craze about "flapping" mirrors on cars? Japan has had it forever and comes standard on all cars due to parking spaces being super small.

BTW great mods! I'd give my left "bouncy ball" for dual front disk brakes. I hope you did a cleaner fender eliminator once you're all done.

Needed. It literally makes the entire setup. Stopping power is sooo good.

Also, regarding the "why?":
I have a GSXR front end and it's f'n dope. It's a whole new game, chasing down liter bikes through turns and braking zones. I've spent just under $3K (net) on my bike as it is now. While, yes, I would love to have a 550 v-twin converted GP bike, this bike does the trick for now. :P

how did you get the front sprocket out farther, and doesit affect strength to move it further from the engine?
