Fumoto Valve

Has anyone used a Fumoto valve on their 250? It replaces your oil drain plug and eliminates the need for crush washers. Helps if you ever overfill you oil and makes changing oil more convenient.

Our drain plug size is 17mm but is that also the thread size?

i don't have this particular one but i have another generic quick valve... it's got a screw on cap below the quick valve with a rubber seal on it just in case the quick valve leaks... it makes it really easy to change the oil though i wish there was an easier way to get the oil filter cover off...

Hmmm, sounds like 12mm x 1.5 which makes sense. 675 uses 14mm x 1.5.

The size is 12mm-1.5. The Fumoto part # is F-109.
I have installed both the Fumoto valve and the Bergnmen spin on oil filter adapter on my 2008. Extremely high quality products that make changing the oil and filter a breeze. Have used both for about two years and absolutely no problems. Highly recommended.

It should be noted that you will need to install the Fumoto valve in the "old gen" drain plug location since it will hit the housing of the new gen location. Luckily Kawasaki left the old oil drain bolt next to the oil filter even though they added the new one.

Sweet, thanks for confirming. No adaptor needed for the 250?

Not sure what you mean by adaptor since the Bergmen is an adaptor that allows you to use the standard auto/motorcycle spin-on oil filters on our bikes. So much easier than the drop-in filter assembly that comes stock

As for the Fumoto valve, get the F-109 and install it in the old oil drain hole as I mentioned before. If you mean the extension for the Fumoto valve, you won't need the extension adapter, although I used one. The reason I have the extension is originally I tried to install it in the new gen location and kept hitting the housing trying to screw it in. Thought the extension would allow me to get it in, but it still hit. I put it in the old location without removing the extension because I forgot about it. Can be done either way.

If I get some time after this weekend, I'll try to post up some photos of both products on my bike. Actually I might start a whole new thread if that's OK since the title of this one may not be understood by the majority of readers.

Yea, I meant the extension for the Fumoto. Thread it up! It'll definitely help people out. I wish I knew this existed about 6 oil changes ago.

You will love it. As easy as opening the spigot on a keg of beer!
Put in the Bergmen as well.

The adapter is pretty nice, but not really cost effective. If you use good automotive oil filters like a Mobile 1 or K&N, you're looking at $10+ per filter. K&N stock replacement filters is under $5. Never mind the $120+ for the adapter. Each oil filter change will cost you twice what one would have cost. I'm all for convenience, but cost efficiency is important too.

Here's an alternative drain valve that's popular with the R6 guys. http://aggracing.com/store/index.php...&product_id=75

Stop flaunting cheap reliable parts if you can't tell us where to get them.
