I'm going to be adding some to my bike this-coming week. Couple questions if you don't mind:
How hard are they to install?
How many did you have?
Time?
Hardest part?

I'm really just unsure about where you place them inside of the fairings. :S
Also, yours looks pink with the camera you used. Haha. Overall looks good though!

Yeah that's why I said pics don't do it justice, very bright red in person. I used 4 of the 2ft long strips. 2 on each side, one under the tank sorta but on the backside of the fairing facing the motor.. the other attached to the back of the black plastic pc under the seats , facing where the airbox use to be.. now just a empty space lol then 2 small 5in strip , 1 under the headlamp facing down on the front fender and the other 5in at the bottom of the taillamp . Easy to do, took about a hour. But I've done it before so not my first rodeo haha..

I've never installed them before. I figure it'll take me a couple hours as my kit is 12 pieces and I've never installed them before. Haha. I just know that two are going up front, two in the tail, two under the body, then 6 going in the body+frame somewhere. Haha.

Two 5 Inch, Six 6 Inch, Two 9 Inch, and Two 12 Inch
http://www.motorcycleledlights.com/B...ghts-12pc.aspx

They're blue, so not legal while driving down the road. They'll only be for show to be honest. I plan on adding some white strobe lights into the body for an added effect.

Yeah it should! I want it to glow.
It's just for show, so I might as well go all out.

Had some bright white leds laying around and was bored today lol not sure if ill keep them on yet or not..if I could shut the headlights off in the daytime they would look cool I think. The hids make them look not as bright.

Yeah they would look good as some running lights .. need to rewire the headlight switch I guess so I can shut them off while the bike is on.

Because of this thread I bought the 10-pc LED set and installed it this week. I ordered from LEDGlow.com on Tues and had them installed by Thursday night. I only did the fairing and left the nose and tail alone. I rather like it, but I think I need a little more light, so I ordered four more strips to be added under the windshield and under the small black fairing directly below the seat.

All told the install took me off and on about 2 hours, which included the time I wasted when I dropped a nut and then later dropped a bolt and had to fish those out of the body. Overall it was extremely easy to install and well worth the time and the money.

Pics coming later.

I'm deciding on doing HID's with prejectors this winter, and if I'm in the headlight, I want to wire som LED's in for that audi-style running lights look. I plan to wire into the auxiliary leads and make it switched, then get the left-hand controls for the Japanese 250R so I have off/low beam/high beam control of the headlight (and keep it nice and stock looking).

If I can get the headlight to turn off, would running only these LED strips during the daytime instead of my headlight be legal?

the led's i used are from my local pepboys, believe there pilot brand.. they are just flexible led strips. think they are about $20 for 2 of the longer ones, $15 for the shorter sets. since i run HID's i just unplugged the high beam from the ballast, and plugged the low beam into the high beam ballast. now when i start the bike the lights dont come on but the led strips stay lit and when i want to run the HID's i just flip to the highbeam switch and actually my low beam lights. i rarely run both HID's anyway as one is usually plenty bright enough.

Pics of my installed white 10-pc LED kit.

I'm going to add a couple longer strips right under the seat and I think I am going to add a couple smaller ones under the windshield as well.

Looking good! If anyone finds a good place in the rear of the bike to hide some LEDs let me know also, the rear just looks so dark and lonely.

Yeah, I'm going to try to add a few LEDs under the seat, but I don't want any ground effects or readily visible LED strips so it makes it difficult to properly light the rear of the bike.

Yea, I want a little color, not a lot, but I can't find anywhere back there to hide the bulbs themselves.

If you find a good spot let me know

I think mine are too long and I'm not sure if they can be trimmed, or else I'd be able to help find spots

I'm thinking about getting some LED for mine, but haven't really done any major Googling about it.

To save some time, anyone got info of other options? The one linked earlier looks good since it comes with a remote, but it's pretty expensive.

Plus, I don't really want a remote per se. I want to be able to install a switch on the bike itself and be able to turn it on and off without having to reach for my pockets. Maybe this could be achieved through some wiring?

Hell, I wouldn't even mind having it "constantly on" setting or a setting where it turns on when braking (lol.. sounds retarded)

I wanted a switch as well and have one coming to me, but I simply out a bit of Velcro on the back of the remote and installed it on the hand bars to keep it accessible yet not have to have it on my keychain.

Mine come on when I start the bike.. shut off when I shut the bike off..lol day time you can't see them and night time there not THAT bright to were I'm worried about being pulled over for having them on.
If I add more to were its really noticeable when driving down the road at night I would consider adding a switch.

Do you have a switch to turn your LEDs on/off or are they always on when the ignition is on?

I personally think that having your bike light up like a Christmas tree with those stupid DIY led kits is really lame. If I wanted to have something cool and safe on my bike, I would pay some pros like the guys at sickhids.com for a full HID conversion using bi-xenon projectors.. ect.

When I see bikes with DIY "LED kits" most of them remind me of this.

^ that's exactly the look I am going for with my mods . I just added 6 more strips just to add a little more light to the darker areas and I think it turned out really well. You can't see any of the strips themselves, just the lighting effect they create, which was very important to me. I want the bike to look "normal" until it hit the little button and light it up.

DIY LED kits work fine... as long as you dont see the strips I dont see what the problem is.

For sure the have pros do the retrofit of the HIDs though.. I agree with that.. Those guys you gave the link to are like 2 hours away from me. lol. did you get anything from them? if so pics? I want to convert my head lights to HID projectors...
