So... with nickjpass talking about his new dirtbike it reminded me of when I started riding. I first rode on a Kawasaki KLX110L and had a blast! I really learned to ride on that thing and to respect motorcycles. Anyways, the bug bit and I started searching for dirtbikes that needed some work. I found an ad on Craigslist this morning for a KLX250 basket case for a pretty good price (I think).

It truely is a basket case. Everything is there except some assorted bolts and the rear shocks but it is all in pieces. I'm not sure if it is a 1979 or 1980. I'm thinking it will be a fun little project. I'm not sure which direction I want to go with it yet (IE motard or offroad), but the main thing is to clean it up and get it back together.

......And by "everything" I see you really mean "absolutely nothing"? :p jk. Nice find. I love project bikes, although I'm not sure I'd have the patience to put that thing back together. It'd be like putting a set of Legos together and forgetting one little piece then having to strip the whole bike down. Good luck though! (I'm jealous of the find btw)

All of the plastics and stuff are in the truck box. After a quick inventory I am missing the left side foot peg/bracket, rear shocks and most of the mounting bolts. Everything else just needs to be cleaned up and restored. I will try to replace as little as necessary as we all know that costs $$$. The transmission turns fine. The engine has tons of compression and is smooth. I'll see about getting some more pics. Oh, I found out it is a 1979 model. I've already had an offer for someone to buy it but I really want to restore her. I named her last night. Kelly.
