OK, I keep seeing posts about the 500 mile service and the 600 mile service. Since I have the '09 250R, my MOM says my first service is at 600 miles. What is this magical 500 mile service, which supposedly specifies that the valves must be checked? Per chance, is that when the 1st Gen service was required? Again, my MOM says the valves should have the first check at 7500 miles. :mad:

1st-gen's required a valve inspection at the initial (600-mile) service. 2nd-gen's no longer do; their first check is now at the 7500 mile service. Here's the maintenance schedule for the 2008+ ninjette:
