Hell-O,

As I wrote somewhere else in the forum, I own a nice Bell RS-1 RSD Flash.

Some area of the helmet is matte black, and now, I have to clean the mess those mosquitoes left on it.

How do you clean this kind of finish?

Should be somewhere on the forum, but couldn't find it with the advance search...

Thanks,

Jiggles

I generally just throw it in the washing machine, but if you don't have access to one then a wet paper towel should do just fine

Soap and water and microfiber cloth? Just taking a stab in the dark.

I'd probably avoid the magic eraser. It has micro abrasives that might polish your matte black into a shiny black.

A very mild solution of Dawn Dishwasher detergent and warm water works for me (I use it on my lower fairing which is flat black)

+1 Dawn works really well on flat finishes since it is made to get rid of grease. A small drop and some hot water is also a great solution for cleaning your shield.

i probably get flamed for this but i use the harley davidson spray for matte paint i initially bought it for my new 2012 matte black paint finish on my iron 883 but it also works well on my matte paint scorpionn helmet.
