Racers.......whatcha runnin? Whatcha tried?

i still have EBCs cause i got a bunch on sale. everyone says vesrahs are where its at. i'll switch when i go through the ebcs

Last Race weekend I did two races on the EBCs, then switched over to the Vesrahs Saturday night for my last two races just to see what the big deal was (Most (all?) of the fast guys seem to love them). From my experience, the EBCs are perfectly adequate, smooth, and feel largely like stock with less brake fade, but the Vesrahs had noticeably more bite and provided a bit more feedback. I definitely felt like I could brake just a little bit harder and faster with less effort after switching over

It wasn't a mind blowing difference, but for the same price, I much prefer the Vesrahs

And since they can be a bit difficult to find for the 250, these are the ones you need if you want to try them:

Any experience with the Vesrah rot pre-gens'?

I have noticed that Vesrah's website recommends different pads for pre-gens', posting the following explanation:

"FAQ: Why no RJL or SRJL Compound for the Ninja 250R:

In 2009 Vesrah USA worked with top Ninja 250R (1st Generation) racers to select the best Vesrah brake pad compound for the Ninja 250R (1st Generation).

The Ninja 250R (1st Generation) requires more feel then absolute brake power for best overall performance.

The RJL and SRJL compounds provided to much bite and effected the overall braking balance of the Ninja 250R (1st Generation).

The JL compound was selected, because it is a Sintered Metal Pad and provides good braking performance for the lightweight Ninja 250R (1st Generation)."

Vesrah pads on pre-Gen bikes are also where its at. I used to use ebc sintered pads. Just switched to vesrahs and they just got done bedding in. Wow. Lots of bite with no grinding feeling like with the ebc's. Smooth and strong. I'm excited to see how they feel tomorrow at mid Ohio.

EBC HH on both the 250 and the ZX6RR (5+ years). Work great, no complaints.

I run Galfer's on my 250... why?
because they came with the bike and because they don't work...
SO, basically... if you're a hella late braker like I am these bad boys MAKE you brake even later because they have ZERO initial bite AND they have tremendous brake fade after two laps. HAHAHAH

Oh really? I ran them last year and didn't seem to have any issues with them. But I'm not a late breaker, I am kinda fat so I rely a lot on corner speed so heavy breaking doesn't work with my body mass.

In need of new brakes so watching this thread with interest. :)

On my CBR1000RR I use Ferodo Sintered Race XRAC Pads...
They have TREMENDOUS bite and they hold without having to increase brake pressure. you'll be backing it in EVERYWHERE if you try those out!

I use as much corner speed as i can BUT i still have to beat the lil guy's to the corner. :p

Vesrah new gen pads and Galfer lines. No brake fade in over a season.

Boys there is a new brake pad avail for the NewGen Ninja. http://www.dp-brakes.com
Tried EBC and Veserah. Besides DP pays contingency in CMRA. We race sprint and endurance. these work better than above listed pads.

chuckle all you want. search my threads, search my riders, search the results. My Rider and Endurance Team both run up front every week. We earn our weekends through contingency by getting up front results...These pads do the job. Anyone that has done any traveling in Europe knows these pads. Not exactly a new company. Just a new offering for the ninjette.

Hi Jason, so are representing a company or do you just have a couple of teams that utilize these brakes. As I stated earlier I am in the market for brakes and would like to hear moe.

GALFER all the way. V pads and e pads cause the rotors to wear. Galfer stops me just fine. Run what wins RIGHT? Pirelli tires, Galfer breaks. You don't need much after that but to just hang on.:D

Over 130 podium finishes for our team this year. Over 200 at the end of the season. :thumbup:

who uses brakes at the track on a 250? roll off tip in roll on.

you have ride harder if your just rolling off.

I have a sprint rider...provisional novice that podiums every week with expert and novice mixed. Then we have an endurance team with two of the top 5 250 riders and the top lightweight twins novice. !st place kills us, we beat 3rd by 4 laps...fairly fast kids. Tried all above mentioned pads. DP work best in our situations.
No one can make an informed comment unless they have tried them. The only stake I have in DP is that they pay us when we podium...We have a Dunlop ride and earn $$$ each race. Other guys make good tires also. We just choose Dunlop. We've run other tires, my son likes the dunlops and they offered us a ride...so we stick with them. Yes we won races on the EBC and 2nd with Vesrah...Just think the DP work better.

just funnin' the name man. I haven't ridden em so i can't comment on their performance. I just laughed at the initials of the name cause I'm a sicko. I feel fine with almost ANY brakes as long as they're attached with some steel braiding and have been bled properly. sounds like you have some fast kids on your squad. nice man. :thumbup:

Ferodo ST, used to be the top O line Ferodo's, still awesome on anything.

Galfer Ceramic are good too.

Vesrah are good too but are not any better and cost more

EBC didn't like to much
