Weeeeelllllll...I finally bit the bullet and bought a Twisted Throttle Alu-Rack Toprack. It was hard to swallow paying $119 plus shipping but I am going to say it is awesome! The rack is far more sturdy then I expected it and pretty easy to install. I have only had it on for a couple rides (one 215 miler and today's 359 miler) and I am already in love with it. I bought it to make my little commuting Ninja better to go to work and back with BUT now I am realizing I have just turned this little girl into a touring bike. :D Today I stuck a cooler, snacks, and a few other essentials and went off on a LOOOONNNGGG ride! It was awesome to just pop open, get what I need and not worry about bungees and tie downs and such. I added a Garage Pro Motorcycle Travel Trunk from JC Whitney for $49 and they work great together. The trunk is probably bigger then most would prefer but I am pleased with it. I recommend BOTH! :thumbup:

I am sure you could probably do some small modofication to the rack to make it easy to carry pizzas since the actual plate on the rack is not all that big:confused:....It carried my Chinese just fine as is!!:thumbup:

Holy crap why did I never think of being a chinese food delivery guy. I'm really excited now can't wait to get back from vacation and try for said job :D

I've had my alu rack for ayear now and love it still. Sometimes I'll take the top rack off if I'll just be around town, but most of the time it stays on. All my bikes get a rear rack eventually. I also have the JC whitney top case :)

Bosgarage57 - I really wanted it to make commuting back and forth to work easier. My "2 up partner in crime" is excited about the backrest AND being able to buy more when we stop at stores then just what will fit in the book bag she normally carries:p Have you had any issues with the JC Whitney box coming lose? I am contemplating putting one or possibly 2 bolts thru the box straight to the rack for security/safety reasons and only when riding 2 up with her BUT using butterfly nuts to be able to take the box on and off easily.
Any suggestions on that?:confused:

Ive had mine for a year now, not counting all the other top boxes I've used on different bikes, and have never had 1 fall off. However, if you feel iffy about it, put a bolt through the box onto the rack to ease your mind.

I have the AluRack with the adapter for CooCase. Twisted Throttle has quality stuff. They are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for and they stand behind their products. My NT 700 is set up for long distance touring--which I plan to do when I stop being so busy.

Keep in mind - you do not need the SW-MOTECH Alu-Rack Topcase Adapter Plate for attaching Soft Luggage (http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/5417/533/) to put the S50 Volt Coocase (http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/6753/686/) onto the Alu-Rack. The Coocase ships with a bolt-on adapter plate that connects to the Al-Rack that makes the Coocase removable.

You could also order a quick-lock adapter plate (http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/7435) that removes via 3 quarter turn fasteners. Either plate will supply power to the Coocase S50 Volt. The quick lock plate is an alternative if you do not want the plastic plate on the bike when you are not using the case. When removed it provides a more streamlined look to the rear of the bike and shows off the engineered lines of the Alu-rack.

Just ordered same set up for my 07 Ninja 250. Like the locking aspect. No more soft sided bags just put clothes in box. Camping gear over passenger side of seat and we're off on an adventure. Will try this set up on my 8 day trip to Daytona Bike Week. Looking for anybody in the Daytona region to maybe ride with. Wardie

You're right it would be better positioned over the rear axle. When the rack and case mounting plate arrive I'm going to see what I can do to move the case as close towards me as I can. It will even look better. I'm going to mount a couple of bungee buggies on the side of the case facing me. That way I can use a bungee net to Rok strap to secure my Eureka Timberline 4 man tent if need be.

:lol: that my bike parked in front or harbor freight, and that's a powder coating system in the box:D

The rotor is the OEM rotor that came on the bike, it has a little RojoRacing magic done to it :D

I posted about the rotor when i first did it a year ago and offered to cut anyone's rotor $70 for one or a minimum group buy of 3 rotors for $50 each. Plus shipping.

I can only give you my observations from when I had my Hayabusa. I installed a Ventura Rack with big bag. The good thing is that you can flip the heaviest side of the bag towards the passenger seat. It has a rain cover and with both bags attached it will hold a considerable amount. I did a 5 day trip to Alabama camping kit inside bag along with clothes in other side no problem.

The drawback is that you can't lock it and you have to haul out a rain cover every time it rains or just ride with it on. The racks are well made and worth what they are asking. I bought my set up used as well which provided excellent value.

Like I said earlier I've put 35lbs in my tail box both closed and opened(like the pic I posted earlier) and it looks just fine back there. I can't imagine what you would need to carry that's more then a few car battery's :D

I can make more mounting brackets for the NewGen ninjas but other bike I would need to have in person to design a plate.

Installed the Alu-Rack on my bike this weekend, and I can't recommend it more. All things considered, it's relatively inexpensive, and mounts SOLIDLY without touching plastics or painted surfaces. It's really very well designed. I installed mine in about 20min., but only because I was moving very slowly and methodically. You really could do it in 10min.

That being said, I ordered a topcase that is too small for my tastes. I intend to put it up in Marketplace at the end of the summer, but if anyone is interested send me a PM.

Alex, hopefully you'll agree this is more of a review and update than an actual solicitation. ;)
