Your browser must still be using an older cached version of that template. Hold your shift button down, and hit the refresh button in the browser, and it will force it to pull down a new version from the server.

Another forum I'm on will just take the youtube url (without any tags) and show it as a preview.

Do you know which forum software they are using? It will typically be in the footer of the page in small text. We're using vBulletin 3.X right now. There are some additional video features in the 4.X line, but I still don't think it's as slick as you describe, so that might be something else entirely. I've been running 4.x for months on another forum, and to be honest, I still prefer the layout and usability of 3.X.
