Has anyone ever tried out this combo? I'm going to try to veer away from leathers, however still be completely protected. I'm thinking about going with this hoodie;

Along with this armor;

Anyone got any advice?

Do you have a supermoto? Sumo gear on anything but looks dumb imo, it even looks dumb on those, just not as bad.

As for the protection, I'd imagine the combo would work well, but the hoodie would probably get eaten up by the pavement if/when you go down. That, and if you get rained on, it will soak up rain so bad, and you'll feel like you weigh 100lbs more :P

Looks like that would work. However, do you ride when it gets cold? I suppose you could just add more layers.

You wouldn't be able to see the impact armor because it'd be under the hoodie. Which is sort of the point.

And ****, yeah I didn't think about the rain.

Not technically boots, but would serve the same purpose.

Well, it wouldn't be till next season. So, I'll probably have around $1200 for gear, give or take a few $100.

And how are they mildly better than sandals? Lmao.

Those sneakers offer 0 protection. For myself, I needed a boot that would be comfy enough to walk in all day like at school. The tcx s-race fit the bill perfectly though at $360. Protection can only be achieved with a full boot, 3/4 boots and everything else won't protect you against the injuries that are most likely to occur

Don't you already have a leather jacket? What's wrong with that

It got torn in the accident. Hole in the side of it.

Bruised, but otherwise good. The jacket did its job.

Good to hear. That would make go back to leather and nothing but. I wouldn't put my faith into something fabricated from cotton fleece to offer adequate protection against pavement. The kevlar panels are a nice marketing gimmick but given the bagginess of how hoodies fit, I doubt they'd stay in place in anything other than a standstill fall off your bike.

try textile. I have the tourmaster flex 3 jacket and flex pants. Why are you avoiding leather? Too hot? If I didn't heat up so quickly and sweat profusely, I'd be riding leathers all year round.

I've been using these boots/shoes for summer riding in Texas. They have some decent protection and look very nice.

HOWEVER if you're not careful the surface of the leather is going to get nicked by your break pedal but that will only be a slight cosmetic annoyance.
