Since the 300 is new to Kawasaki line up I thought I would share the effort put into changing the oil. Which is nothing. Absolutely an easy easy easy task.

Some Kawasaki 10W-40 non synthetic until after the second oil change.

And the lazy mans way of taking the oil filter off. As Jiggles pointed out with his 1000 the factory does seem to put the oil filter on stupidly tight. The plastic oil filter socket does the trick with ease so maybe it was me being lazy this day. :D

Why shouldn't you use synthetic before 1000 miles?

non syn allows the rings bed into the liner.

to get the right "shape"

thats why engine builders when they hone the cylinder bores they leave cross hatch "effect" and not shiny.
