Well, we have the gun thread, so why not the guitar thread! Show us your axes, people. I know I can't be the only one here with multiple addictions.

My Ibanez ARX-100CA

Here's my Ibanez AEL50SERLV

This is my blues guitar, an Ibanez AG-75

And last, but not least, my homemade dreadnought, circa 1976

I know there's at least one classic gold top Les Paul out there.

Nothing too fancy for me (have dialup, will post pics later.)

-Fender (squire) Strat-1st guitar

-Sound Research (or something like that), acoustic, just cause it was cheap.

-Fender Coronado XII (1969 I believe), hollowbody electric 12 string

-Breedlove AD25/SR Plus, acoustic/electric

and a nice Line6 212 (2x12", 100W, bazillion effects) amp with remote.

That's my collection, among the familly there is another older electric guitar (dad's, semi-no-name) and my mom's acoustic Ibanez (which is really nice for the money, put's a lot of top-dollar's to shame and it was like $300 new)

Hey cwb48, did you make that dreadnought from scratch, from a kit, or did someone else make it? I'd LOVE to learn how to make acoustics! But all I can find in schools and stuff is how to make electrics.

My parents gave me one like this in 1960:

And I think Gibson offers an acoustic construction program, but I might be wrong.

Hey Travis;
I made the dreadnought from scratch in 1976. It was my second acoustic guitar, the first was also a dreadnought (Martin D-28 copy) with mahogany sides and back. I have an older brother who played and made a couple of electrics, and I got a lot of information from a couple of library books, the names of which I forgot long ago. Check out Stewart McDonald http://www.stewmac.com/ for wood, parts and books on guitar making. It really is not that difficult if you are a good wood worker and have patience to spare. I have photos of my other creations, but they are film prints and will have to be scanned so that I can post them.

You have a nice collection there. What model is your mom's Ibanez? My AEL50 sounds as good as my buddy Bob's $1400 Taylor, and I only paid $350 for it. It is made in China, by the way, which puts me off a little, but my whole collection cost less than that Taylor.

Are you playing any gigs, or is it just a hobby? I used to play part time (weddings mostly), but I gave it up 20 years ago.

And call me Chris.

Sam;
That's a nice Gibson acoustic. It looks like a J-45, possibly pre 1945 from the banner on the headstock. The oldest J-45 I could find on Ebay was 1951, and the owner wanted $5600 for it. Pre '45 J-45s are considered to be the most valuable, so your guitar could be quite precious indeed. You might want to have it appraised.

I think when I checked, it was manufactured in 1954. My son had it appraised...$8K, but I'm never selling it.

Here are a few of mine. The Fender is a 67 with a very thin bolt on neck. the Telecaster copy says Gibson on the headstock and was great for gigs where there was a potential for spilled beer. The Firebird style on the right was made by me in about 1992. I also have a Washburn T-bird, a late 50's Magnatone Mark V with a Bigsby, a Martin, and a fretless Jazz Bass.

Thanks! I need to get some pics up. My mom's Ibanez is a AW-40NT (art wood series, tree-of-life neck inlay), and it's also made in china (meh). I'm not really playing any "gigs" but I do lead worship at a local church on a regular basis, as well as off and on at another church. Never really thought about playing solo gigs, but maybe. I am doing a demo-type CD (has 6 songs, working on more and maybe some re-mixes of the other ones).

I'll try to get some pics up soon.

Love the ninja one. I bet you can play it "Fastest"
all the ones shown are wonderful!!
Taylors are beautiful. They were sold in the retail part of the co. I worked for in Seattle. Dusty Strings, they make Harps(lever) and Hammer Dulicmers.
I worked in the shop for 9 years. Had to work within .003 of an inch tolerence in wood. www.dustystrings.com (http://www.dustystrings.com)
The retail shop is amazing. all kinds of acoustics.

I made a flat iron replica mandolin. Isn't perfect but sounds sweet.

Too bad I can build one but not play one. HA! I will try to take a pict.

I've got a Rogue LX 200-B 4-string bass guitar. I haven't played in a while, but about 3 weeks ago I actually picked it up to start playing again. I'm a little rusty but it'll all come back in time... :)

This isn't my guitar, I didn't want to drag her out of the case for a pic. But that's what she is. '67 Barney Kessel
