Upgrade went pretty smoothly today. For folks who are interested in all of the new features and improvements, a full list is available ---> right here (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/blog.php?b=2334).

The blogging area of the site has been upgraded as well, and there are quite a few new features there. May be worth taking a peek!

I'm particularly interested in those using the Mobile style, and would like to know if things are still working as expected for them. I don't have an easy way to test it, so user feedback is pretty critical there...

yeah - but it's hard to go for a ride while the site's down and it's dark and there's freezing rain :(

suprisingly the site automatically switched me to mobile even though Im usually fine surfing regular pages with opera. Works out really well though and the only problem is for long replies like this... text disappears off the screen for a bit, so you have to try typing without typos lol.... and it did take me awhile to figure out the autologin was "below" the login button...

I also use Opera Mini on my N82, and i get redirected to mobile style forum. Would be better if it just sent me to the "normal" forum, how do i do that Alex?

Nothing you can do on your end, but I can fix it on my end. What I need is the browser agent string.

Best way to get this is for me to look at it while you are online with that device. I can then see exactly what it is sending as a browser agent, and I can put it in the exceptions list so it doesn't force you to the mobile version.

Send me a PM when you are online with the gadget, and if I'm here I'll be able to fix it right away. (If I'm not you may need to try again in a couple hours when I'm at the screen again)...

Nemy -

It would help if I had the full browser agent for your login as well. Right now it looks like you're not coming in from the phone, but using a pc & firefox:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120122 Firefox/3.0.5

If I see something different between yours and Guinss, I can differentiate between the 2. Can you log in from your phone now?

Yup, that helped a lot. FYI, here's the browser agent that your phone reports:

Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.1.11355/574; U; en)

When I get the other one, I'll try and find a way to keep one from pushing to mobile and not the other.

It works on my phone now. Its the same design as on the pc. I think i have the same client as the one in the post above.

OK, got Guinss's browser agent...

Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.1.11355/574; U; nb)

Only difference is the very last bit (nb), but that might be enough. So help me out folks, right now, are both of you seeing the mobile version on your phone? And one of you would like it to stay the mobile version, and one of you would like it to use the standard full style? Am I understanding correctly? I think I can make that work, and it's really not much trouble at all, but I'll need your cooperation to let me know after I made the change if it worked for both of you; I don't have an easy way to test it on my end.

ok, very good :)

on my phone its now standard full version, no longer mobile version. It changed pretty much at the same time you wrote "Nemy" 's client here in this thread.

OK - I think I have it configured as you both preferred now, the user agent string with "nb" in it is classified as an exception, and will not be detected as mobile. You should see the full version of the site.

If you don't have "nb" in your user agent string, it should detect you correctly as a mobile user, and show the mobile version of the site.

That's the plan at least, let me know if you're both seeing the things I'm hoping you're seeing.
