I had a request for some pics of the Cortech bags, so I took a couple the other night to post here. I have the sport tail bag and saddle bags, along with the mini-tank bag. It's been far too cold to do much riding lately, so I don't actually have them mounted - just popped them on there to give the general idea - garage is a little cramped at the moment, so I can't store her with them on anyway :)

I do have them sitting forwards a bit so that I don't have clearance issues with the blinkers. Since I sit up against the tank anyway, the strap doesn't bother me at all.

but that is why it is great to see it on the same bike... even the same color!

it sounds like your butt is small enough so that you can sit forward of the straps. but let's say, hypothetically speaking, that you have a bigger butt that takes up most all the seat. someone's like say.... mine. do you think the strap would get irritating after a while?

and i appreciate it! :) well....1) your butt isn't big. my butt is definitely bigger than yours and 2) i can't sit that far forward on the seat anyways because my scrotal region (trying to sound professional) would be smooshed flat against the gas tank. i certainly would have to be sitting on the straps.

There is a bungee system for it with four different points to secure it. The mounting instructions (http://www.cortechperformance.com/images/products/hangtag_r1.pdf) might shed a little more light on them for you...

Can you post a pic showing how you mount the tail bag? Every way I try seems to stretch a bungee across the paint, and after a few miles that could do some damage. Thanks.

no matter how you mount it, it will touch the paint. I have not had a problem... yet, but I plan to cover a small section where the bungee cords touch with some clear vinyl sheeting similar to what is used for paint protection soon. :)

Or you could get a car :P!

I haven't had any problems with my Coretech and the straps across the tail...

The old and new Ninjas are very different in the hind quarters. My old Ninja had a great rear for strapping down bags.

I agree that the pre-gens have a better attachment system but I guess I will just have to learn to live with what I have on the '09 :rolleyes:

are the saddle bags big enough to carry the 5ft kyrptonite chain? and a decent size bike cover? (no matter where i go im bringing both, i am extremely theft paranoid.)

Got mine last year. Hated the way they cover the turn signals so I moved the turn signals to the license plate braket. The turn signal wires was just barely long enough with enough moving around.
