Alex - your killing me man. Used to live in Morgan Hill. Didn't ride in those days but sure do miss the area and the coast. Thanks for the pictures.

Beautiful.

Ive never been that far up the PCH. This upcoming sunday I am going to spend a few hours in the canyons in my cage (sorry, I just got new tires and I am dying to test it out. Besides, I dont trust myself on the ninja for canyon caving just yet) :p

Weird Highway 1 facts:

Did you know that it's only officially the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) closer to your neck of the woods? It takes on a couple different names as it goes up the coast. But even here in SF, sometimes people still call it the PCH out of habit.

I meant new tires for my cage, not the bike. But if you really were asking about the car, I got a set of Bf Goodrich KDW2's.

Alex, Thanks for the memories. Rte 1 is still as beautiful as I remember it. I was stationed at Ft.Ord in 1967 and lived in Marina--at a place called Crescent Manor Apartments. At that time I was riding a Triumph TR-6--same as the Bonneville but with one carb. I used to like riding to Carmel and through Big Sur. I even moonlighted selling cars for Ralph Williams Crysler-Plymouth. He had these obnoxious ads on TV with his German Shepherd--whose name escapes me now. I think I`ll be riding across the US to visit my daughter in San Jose. I won`t be ridng the Ninjette. I`ll be riding my bicyle.

Wow I miss the ocean so much.. I was born in South CA and grew up taking trips to the beach. Then I move to TX while I was still real young, but the Gulf is nothing like the Pacific Ocean. I miss being able to smell the ocean before you saw it, then getting all excited, lol. Beautiful pics.

Tor, I can understand. I live on the coast of Maine, maybe a hundred meters from the ocean. Spent some time in Texas doing my internship at Brooke Army Medical Centre on their Burn Unit. I think I could only live on the Gulf coast of Texas. We have sailed to Corpus Christi and some other places on the Texas coast--nice area, sure would not want to live inland.

Real nice pics! The red just stands right out and makes a great picture. I hate you guys for your roads though... in Canada its mostly straight lines and highways :( and that's if we can get past all the snow! :(

Welcome! Can't think of a nicer place in the world for motorcycles than northern California. (but I'm sure some on the board will certainly say there are other areas that may be just as nice! )

yes i agree with you, although i have not rode a motorcycle. i do enjoy the natural beauty that is up here. the only other place that can compete is Alaska, in the summer time of course. i was up there this summer and when its not freezing it seems like it would be an amazing place to bike
