Nice to meet you, I'm Nani.

I just got an almost-new completely un-modified 2007 Ninja 250 which I named Itoshii (means 'lovely' in Japanese). This is my first moto and for starters I changed the silver logos and red flames to reflective magenta (night pics to come later). I'll add the rimstripes when I get the rims painted black and need a bit of help with the exhaust...

I live in an apt. complex so I can't make the bike louder... but I'd rather have the exhaust in black or dark chrome.... any suggestions?
Thanks!! :D

Aloha and welcome to the madness, Nani. :)

There have been some that have painted their mufflers with high heat barbecue paint, if that's what you are after.

he had his stock 08 muffler painted black. he can tell you how he did his.

Also, you do know the mufflers from some of the earlier years were black, right? Perhaps you could find a used set on eBay.

some pics of alex's old bike here...

welcome :D I love the pink flames. I just put the pink rim stripes on my rims and found some nice pink tank pads, but I hadn't seen the flames. Where did you get them? I also got the pink led tire valve lights.

I got the flames (and the rim stripes) from Tapeworks.com.

I also got a pink tank pad, mine's from ICON and it turns into a backpack which is pretty sweet. Where did you get the pink LED tire valve light???

Do you have any pics?

I got them from e-bay and tried them out tonight, but they glow more blue

I think I may get the green ones instead. They were only 4.99 total (shipping from Japan)

I ordered my ICON Primer tank pad through my local motorcycle store, it's a small business and the owner is just awesome. Here's a pic of the one I got:

Wow. That will hold a whole lot of stuff!! Thanks I will be looking for that. I found a joe rocket tank bag that I liked in black and pink for light days.

but for road trips the ICON would be so much better.
Heres the tank pad I was talking about:

http://www.immortalgraphix.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=140

I am not sure which one yet and they seem to be adding more lately.

I almost got the Joe Rocket Manta bag but the backpack straps on the ICON won me over, plus it fits more though it isn't much larger.

 I misunderstood the tank pad you were talking about... for a moment there I was thinking tank bag instead of pad... I even posted the word 'pad' instead of bag... :rotflmao: happens!!

Btw, tough choice with the pads, a lot of them on that website look gorgeous...

I figured, but wanted to hear what you had, glad I did. At work I have a tiny locker so the magna will work well, but I want to do weekend trips as well, I also like the straps on the ICON, can wear as a backpack, I think I will be getting one. May I be so bold as to ask what you paid? Thanks so much!!!:D

Yeah no prob, I got it for $42 but I think MSRP is around $50
Dunno how small your locker is, but the bag measures 12"X12"X6" so it isn't big at all.

That price seems very fair even at MSRP. And as for the locker its half that size:( No it has to be bigger than that but we have to share so almost the same.

What did you think of the lights? I got them for visabilty but not real sure they are that great. Maybe at higher speeds? That was me tonight in first (maybe 2nd) gear. I want higher speed video, maybe this weekend, I will post.

The lights do look blue, visibility-wise, I think it'd look better if it had 2 LEDs per wheel but maybe that's not possible. Did you install the rim tapes already? Are they reflective?

I had my husband put the rim tape on, and no I didn't use the reflective tape. We used the precurved type and is not offered in pink reflective, or at least I couldn't find any. I was hoping the lights would be enough. I also forgot to post the link for the lights.

Here's a pic of the one I have (magenta) and a lighter pink... dunno which shade you're using on your bike:

Then I added the eyelashes and face (you have to look closely, there are eye pupils, a nose and a mouth).

Nice bike, you can sure tell it belongs to a female. Also the Mario doll is a nice touch!

You should secure Mario in there, how about if some little punk ass kid comes and grabs it!

Are you still thinking of a tank bag as well?

Please take this into consideration, a test I did on my friend's bike. He has a tank pad and when I tried to put the bottom 'flap' of my tank bag it would not "stick" (it has a magnet) since the tank pad's in the way. Just a friendly FYI.

In conclusion, the bottom flap of my tank bag works just like a tank pad.

Thanks. I didn't even think of that.:confused20: I have been wearing this backpack that I got from a Kawasaki event that folds up and I can keep under my back seat so I haven't thought much about a tank bag lately. I want the pad to protect the tank from my belt and the rubbing from my jacket. Thanks for the advise. I will have to think about this more:thumbup:
