I understand the internals are different but are the dimensions the same? It is much easier to find a set from a new gen 250.

Should bolt right on.

the left fork bottom on the 250 is different. because of the speedo mount. but its pretty close.

I missed that, but they should bolt up to the 300 without issue, just use the 300's wheel spacers.

They do, I've done it.

I have two 250s and now a 300 side by side in my garage...as well as a few others and they look like the same with some aesthetic changes and the lack of a speedometer.

Glad to hear it bolts up.

I just got this 300 and its pretty trashed. I am debating whether or not to rebuild it or part it out.

Crashed thrashed?

Trashed as in most people would put it in the trash..

There are a ton of good parts on it and its a prime candidate for a race bike...but I already have a 2011 race 250 and I can run 2 classes with that bike versus only one on the 300.

I meant is it thrashed because it was violently crashed...

Or did someone find the time in the last 7 months to beat the living snot out of one?

It was violently crashed yes.

Within the first 200 miles the PO was mid turn when hitting a sand patch caused a low side crash at about 40mph. When the bike went from pavement to the grass median it flipped a few times utterly destroying the front end. I have never seen a crash cause the ignition switch to break.

Sounds like a good time to swap on a better front end. Nothing too fancy, a Ninja 650 front end would be dramatically better IMO.

With the fragility of the plastics I bet it showered shards for an hour post accident!
