Just checking to see how many miles you guys/gals have on your bikes. Multiple entries over time welcomed... sort of a mileage log and also to see who's riding their bike and who's not.

So, come on and post... it's always interesting to see how many and how few miles some bikes have.

year of bike: 2008

date purchased: march08

present mileage as of today: 1913 (yes, that's my mileage and not my year of birth!)

year of bike: 2008

date purchased: Nov 08

present mileage as of today: 1513 (and that's definitely NOT my year of birth! geez, give some credit.......... I am older.) hahaha

I haven't been able to "ride to work" vs "ride to ride". At the moment I don't have a way to carry anything, ie back pack or larger tank bag. The tank bag I have is good, is just too small to carry anything much.

NB.

If you need more capacity, try adding a tail bag along with the tank bag. I use a tail bag when I ride to work.

Unless, of course, you need to carry really big/heavy stuff that just won't fit on the bike.

5300 on the ninjette, we bought it with 1100 miles on it in May so that's 4200 of our own. Not a heck of a lot, but in that same period I've put on at least 15k miles on the other 2 bikes. It's been a good riding year. :)

So assuming you purchased it on March 31, that's 7.9 miles per day. You've so far averaged 13.4 posts per day on this board, for a posts/mile ratio of 1.7. By no means should you post less, but gosh darn it start riding that thing Kelly! :ride:

Tony, I love the look of your bike! Looks clean for the age. I have a soft spot for all 80's and early 90's sport bikes. A very BAD soft spot.

My 08' 250R (fiances daily ride) has 3000km +or- 500. I really cannot remember. It has been in storage since October. Its been a hard year with snow. Several feet of it everywhere.

WOW!!!

I'm glad to see these little engines can make it to 40k

I did have to replace my engine recently, at around 38k miles as it had some problems probably due to abuse by the p.o.'s, but this new/used 5k mile engine seems to be running pretty good. I hope to have it for quite some time & many more miles.
Over one of the other 250 sites, there's a topic about one guy taking his Ninja 250 to 100,000 miles, here's the link (http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/100%2C000_miles_on_an_EX250)

I also bought spare parts every chance I got. I had 2 sets of Cylinders with Matching pistons and rings. 2 spare cases, 1 spare crank, couple sets of rods, a couple sets of heads etc etc. Some weekends were spent doing tear down and rebuild with fresh gaskets.

Just clicked over 15,700 today.

Not too bad for a bike that, immediately after purchase, broke the fuel valve, and then blew through an o-ring on the carb, and had to have a million other little things done to it. New tires on order and then she's done (for now) and ready to rock.

Amazing how much comfort a little time in the saddle is bringing. Plus, I can't stop grinning every time I come back from a ride.

Oh, man, I expected you to get this first....It's sorta common to refer to mountain trails w/ total elevation change.

You did help me catch a decimal place, it's even more
About 180 trips up and down a 7000' mountain 14,000' elevation change daily.
Should have been 2,500,000 feet total elevation change.

Point was, the bike is working hard when I drive to work, ya'know?

Purchased: October 13, 2009 with 971 miles on it

Current mileage: 1778 miles

So that's 807 miles of love for my baby as of today :D

I've been riding a lot more as of late now that I use my bike to commute to work and back everyday (I don't really save any time doing so, as it's a short ride with minimal traffic, but I find it's a great pick-me-up in the morning, and something to look forward to at the end of a long day) and now that I've gotten a taste of canyon riding, it's hard to keep off it. That, and the '09 is more delicious than bacon and Fall and Winter in Los Angeles are positively beautiful <3

2k8.

I've put about 4500 miles on it in the one year I've had it, more than half of which were a two-week, 2600 mile trip. Parked it last October, de-pickled it in late March.

Bought August, 2008 with 2 miles on the odometer. Now over 13,000 miles. There were about 5 months there where I almost didn't ride it at all because I didn't have the money for the valve service. :) I'd probably be pushing 20K, assuming that I wouldn't have had the same issue at the second valve service. :D

Bought mid-October, 2008 with ~4200 on the clock.
Now @ 12,100mi. There'd be tons more, but I have to drive my cage to work every day due to necessary hauling of equipment and live cargo

I'm at 7600mi right now. I really have not been putting on a lot of miles on it lately. I brought my bike home on 6/1/09 and by September I had 6k miles. Then I pretty much parked it until December when I got a new tire. I put almost 1k miles on it in January when the temp was below freezing for like 2 weeks, because I only had water in my car's cooling system and it froze up, so I was bike only for the very coldest part of the year. Lately I've only been riding on super nice days because I don't feel like doing the valve adjustment right now. I think if I was riding as much as I was last summer this whole time I would probably have at least 20k miles on it by now.

Got it 9/9/2009 with 3 miles on it, no license and no idea how to ride it. Yesterday 26/04/2010 it has hit 3002 in those 229 days. That's an average of 13 miles per day over the winter period with snow and everything else :)

Bit of rust starting to form on the end and bracket of the exhaust, rear IRC tire's are not squaring off its keeping its shape and has about 5mm of unused rubber on each side. Think my rear brake disc is starting to warp slightly, got a vibration from the left of the screen due to the rubber bolt that holds it down deforming, think I've fixed that now, got a vibration from the clutch lever, but put some tape on the end of it to dampen out the metal on metal noise.

Bought my '09 with 2km on St Patty's day 2009. Only have 3,000 kms (1,800m) so far, not bad since I have a short riding season and working 2 full-time jobs during the warmer season.

I got my '09 in the middle of October of 2009 with 971 miles on it. As of my ride home from work today, it's now at 5210. So not too terribly high. My weeks are starting to get a bit busier though, so I probably won't get a chance to put nearly as much time aside for riding as I'd like.

Mine would be higher if I could find some quality rain boots. That is my limiting factor. That, and I could use a tail bag that is water proof (hard bag).

My old 250 had 38000+ kilometers (23000+ miles) before giving it up and getting the 08' 250.

Now have 15000+ kilometers (9300+ miles) on the 08. Would be more, damn those canadian winters. Although, having a heated vest helps alot in early spring and late fall up here.

I know I know, just dont relish getting to work soaking wet, granted i work outside so end up soaked anyway.

Then again personally I dont feel safe on the roads in the rain, combination of not trusting other drivers and not comfortable riding in the rain.

Granted my worst ride topped rain. Flasher relay burned out so I had no turn signals, roughly 20 degrees at night, and half way home it started snowing on me.

I love it, everyone has lights on, you get to hang off to try keep the bike upright more, if you wearing proper gear you don't really get wet, the noise of raindrops on your visor is a nice sound, it cool stoping at lights and having steam rise through the handlebars. Still have way more grip than you would ever want to use on the street available. Much more subtle feedback from the tires. Easier to get your head into that focused state.

Only part I don't like is that a chain lube will be needed pretty much within a day of that ride.
