View Full Version : My girlfriend dumped me so I bought a new Ninja 300
DoubleYellowDan July 10th, 2013, 05:16 PM Hi everybody! I really enjoy this forum so I figured I better start posting. So as the title says my gf dumped me..I wanted to buy a new bike for a long time but I was saving money for our future as a couple. She also didn't like the fact of me even going on occasional rides with a friend. (He would loan me his 07 busa)
So when out of the blue my gf dumped me I knew what would help me get over her and the pain I was feeling! I drove to dealer and found only to find no white 300s in stock and he said I would have to wait for it. No problem I said...I wanted to ride ASAP...so he set me up with a sexy green SE
Well its been 2 weeks and still waiting on my license plate. Put on 1200 miles. I love my new bike but I am ready for an upgrade and I don't even have a plate on it yet lol. But the power of a 300cc in this bike doesn't bore me at all. I will try and wait at least a couple years before I upgrade. 636 maybe??
So anyways anybody else buy new toys to help during depressing times?

Live2ride July 10th, 2013, 05:46 PM So you lost a gf....and found a new one soon thereafter; one that won't complain that you're riding her too hard, she'll just scream and take anything you can throw at her. Nice, bro!

MrChau July 11th, 2013, 06:05 PM Nice ride man. 1200 miles in 2 weeks, you must have had a blast.
This Girl Rides July 11th, 2013, 06:07 PM Hey hey now guys, no he-man women haters here! :(
You just have to find you a female that will support your hobbies and involve herself.
My boyfriend and I both game, when I moved in with him first thing I did was convert his empty spare room into a game room: matching recliners, comic book page covered walls, matching stands, 2 matching 32" flat screens, turtle beach headsets, ect.
Same goes for motorcycles, he mentioned it; I have rode dirt bikes my whole life so I was more than down. Month after he brought it up we were at the dealership both purchasing bikes.
I could go on and on, relationships should be as a team supporting one another...not selfish desires and one sided thinking :)
Moral of the story; find a kick ass girl next go around ;)
Congrats on your new bike, I love my sexy bitch (I have a stardust white 300)

Awesome! Good call on the BL's I will look into that, I am looking into getting a 600 track bike project for this winter. So I don't ride like a fool on the streets and don't have to pay the crazy insurance for a 600.
Solunatic July 15th, 2013, 06:00 AM IMHO SS brake lines are the first major upgrade anyone should make to a bike, followed by suspension. Fronts at least, rear is far less important on these sporty bikes. Not only is it a good safety mod, but it feels like a much more expensive bike for relatively little cost.
Although in true internet fashion, this hypocrite will have the suspension on the sv reworked before the ss lines get ordered.
I fully endorse your 600 track bike idea. While it's kinda spendy, and I wish i could afford a dedicated track bike, track time with my street bikes has paid off in spades in safety on the street and trust in my bike. It also has likely reduced my probability of racking up speeding tickets, but that's a little too intangible to prove :p

I hope I will be able to do my first trackday this year with the 300..makes sure its something I want to get into. And if I do I know a bigger bike will be in the future

I say go for it!
As aforementioned by you, it would be a nice way to have a 600cc without paying 600cc insurance..plus who doesn't wanna rip on a track!

Klondike1020 July 16th, 2013, 07:13 PM Congrats on the bike man. I have just gone through a rough long term live in gf breakup. First I didn't handle it very well.... Then I got on the retail therapy... I didn't get a new bike but I get parts .
Parts and gear are just as good if you already have a bike lol
I spent a couple hours on a friends 300 . All white this last week. Def tempted to pickup a 300. But I have to clean up my mangled bikes I have first.

BE SAFE EVERYONE!!...had a few close calls recently and it makes me double think about riding daily on the roads:mad:

Hey , If you ride with teh mindset that every other driver intends to kill you when you least expect it you will get along just fine lol.
Ridding has really gotten my mind off of the heavy **** from my break up.
clears the mind and builds focus. Helps you set new life goals and find who you are.....
HELPs you pickup new chicks with better attitudes lol.
Motorcycles are the cure for many of lifes problems
DoubleYellowDan July 16th, 2013, 08:30 PM Thats how I have been riding..the big one I had the other day I knew something was coming..A blue hair tried to mow me down..I felt bad giving him the finger after about 10 seconds of my horn. But he shouldn't even be on the roads
DoubleYellowDan July 22nd, 2013, 07:08 PM Not on any topic is this thread..but here are a few vids. Nothing good. Hopefully better ones to come

This Girl Rides July 22nd, 2013, 08:02 PM One major concern when watching the videos, (by the way, glad your gettin out and having fun) BUT do your jacket sleeves not have any velcro to secure around your wrist?
If you ever fall and the arms are free-for-all like that, you're gonna have some pretty nice skin grafts...eek.
EDIT: I hope you never do go down on the bike BUT better safe than sorry, ya know?
DoubleYellowDan July 22nd, 2013, 08:19 PM Yes jacket has velcro but they go loose when its 95 and humid. Thanks tho!

Took what you said and decided to order some gauntlet gloves, Thanks for talking me into buying new gear haha
http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/teknic-violator-gloves
Probably still wont use them on the really hot days but we don't get a lot of those in Michigan anyways.
JohnnyBravo July 25th, 2013, 11:19 PM Gear is necessary if you value your skin and life. It's easy to become addicted, unless your squidward
DoubleYellowDan July 26th, 2013, 04:20 AM Very true, I am not complaining and respect everyones opinion. I did join this website to talk bikes and riding not have people lecture me on gear. I am not a noob and understand risks and consequences. I can talk to my mom and my sisters if I want people to tell me how dangerous it is.
Time to let this thread die..
Grishbok July 26th, 2013, 05:13 AM Skin is probably the most painful organ to try and grow back/graft. wear your gear unless you want to become visually aquainted with your muscle fibers.
lgk July 26th, 2013, 05:38 AM We only push gear because we care about your adventures, and dont want you to miss them due to preventable injures.
Also i want this thread to keep going as shows the correct course of actions after breaking up with crazy...
Probably should be stickied, lol.

LOL!
You know what you should do?
Step 1: Get a mic that can do voice effects.
Step 2: Talk to dudes with your regular voice and accept one of the inevitable requests
Step 3: invite said creeper to an SnD.
Step 4: change your voice to sound like a dude!
repeat until bored...

"xoxo JUGGS".... much wow. such classy. many claps to you such juggs, and many claps to your username. if only you had chosen the fly "Mc"Juggs, the trifecta would have been complete. i think if you get all 3 it's actually an XB achievement.

Hero Danny June 8th, 2014, 07:20 PM Often times when I ride by myself I will talk out loud to myself... sounds crazy, but I pretend I am doing some commentary or something.. I find it nice to work out my feelings/thoughts/problems while riding. I sometimes use hand gestures and I'm sure people think I'm nuts hahaha.
Riding a bike is a good way to cleanse some of your problems.

I like to sing in the car. It's the last bit of privacy left in the world.
(assuming the NSA dont have a backdoor to my satnav :) )

Sing in the car? Please, I sing on my bike, at traffic signals, regardless of convertibles, other motorbikes, and rolled-down windows. Yeah people stare, but who cares. :D

You realize you are making the perfect case for full face helmets ;)

Oh, I always wear a full-face helmet, yet, even with their windows rolled up, they can often hear me. :D

BoBO June 10th, 2014, 01:56 PM To the OP, congrats on your new lightweight machine. It might not be a 100% fix, but it will keep you busy for the meantime. I had an ex GF that I split up with many years ago, for school purposes. It sucked, but that's life, sometimes you don't always get what you want at that moment. It took a GT35 turbo w/18 psi on my MR2 turbo to keep me busy for the meantime. Thinking about it now, I'm glad I broke up with my ex because I found someone better for me that I didn't have to look hard for. It just happened, life is weird.

Same here, I can sound crazy as well, but it's a good way to find yourself out of your problems.

APEmike October 15th, 2014, 04:04 PM OP, same deal. Few months back GF and I broke up. Took a little while but I came across my new GF, a 2014 300, white SE. Still have to see the ex every week as kids are involved, but man, the look on her face was worth it!
