My friend just got a Leo pipe on her 300

I thought that the hanger hardware looked soooo cheesy

has anyone made their own yet? I made a prototype but havnt had her back out yet to fit it. I made it out of 3/16 plate aluminum and I am going to give it a brushed finish with the dremel when its done.

doesnt look bad imo, something new that it screws from the back of the passenger rear set
looks better than the one from yoshi, with that ugly grey rubber hanger

Oh shoot.....

Next Question ... IS it necessary for the strap that wraps around the pipe to keep the seam that bolts to the hanger bracket vertical? I was thinking of making a strong aluminum hanger that comes down 2.5" and has a tab at about 15 degrees to support the muffler.

If I should be worried about negative effects of supporting the pipe at an angle I will start over ....

well i dont know if it necessary to keep it vertical or not but the main point is to keep it anchored solidly so when you rev the motor and the motor moves, the canister doesn't move and hits the swingarm/tire or brake hose that are close to it

Not required to be vertical. If you make one I expect a fully written up DIY. :p

Here is my hanger from Area P, see now I think it flows nice...the colors and such- but opinions are like belly buttons and we all have belly buttons.

DIY preview. Cut piece of plate aluminum. Bend said aluminum. Drill said aluminum. Spend time polishing aluminum w dremel..... Stock on bike and admire your own handy dandy resoursfulness

Now to talk the bikes owner into letting me replace a perfectly good mount w another perfectly good mount that may look better according to some different people's belly buttons or opinions ;)

Passenger pegs had to come off for the ultra high mount,
I don't care to share my bike 2-up with anyone though- so for me it wasn't a issue. :D
