Well I got my spare seat in from EBay. Good price. $22 shipped. It was ripped by it doesn't really matter cause my top case came in also and I'm gonna mount it all up. Finally....I'll have some real useable storage. Ill post pics when it's done.

Here's my Ebay Rear Seat...It was torn on the rear...I cut it open and took out almost all of the foam leaving just the part that goes up front.

The screws sent with the top case to mount the case bracket are really long!! I ended up cutting them and the 2 metal braces in the rear as well so the seat would lock in place.

Here it is mounted on the bike.

The bracket allows for the case to be removed and leave the bracket on the bike. We kept the original bracket as well so we can ride 2-up  if we decide to get really brave. LOL

the case I got is HUGE!! It can hold 2 full face helmets.
It's a GIVI RIPOFF...made by TMS. Seems to be pretty decent quality....except for the latching mechanism..we'll see how long that lasts. it IS removable from the bracket...and has a handy carrying handle integrated into it.

Bottom...you can see on the right the "latch" that will hold the case to the bracket.

High quality Lock/latch. ;)

The last pic is my favorite. I tried to make it look like it was made for the bike...I think I did a decent job.

Wow... until I read the text I thought that was a Givi case. Ripoff indeed! Well it looks like you've done some good work there, leaving that front bit of foam does really help make it look like the mount was made to go there.

Looks great and makes the bike more practical to go to work and to the store. I have been wanting to do this to my 300 but have not found a rear seat (pilon seat) for cheap yet. Time to go look on ebay!

Great job!

Nice job!!!! I love neat, clean DIY.

I could never get over the look of those huge cases, though. Just me. Looks like a goiter.

Yeah, they look kinda huge, but you get over it once you get somewhere and have everything at hand without having to pack a backpack, saddlebags, and tankbag... you kinda get over the looks.

Good clean install! I am tired of a back pack heating my back, I may be soon on the trunk list

Clean job on that, I've been running virtually the same trunk on my CBR for the past year (and my old VT1100 for the 6 years before that). Top cases are invaluable.

I plan to move it over to my new (old) Ninjette in a bit so I can transfer some of the utilitarian boredom over to my gas-sipper! Leave the old super-bike open for a bit more fun

I +1'd your comment for the creative use of the word goiter. :lolsign:

looks good, does it just come off with the seat cowl? or is it mounted in other places as well?

also if it is only attached to the seat how fast have you went with it on? does the wind shake it around?

The trunk can be removed by itself(leaving just the seat/bracket) or the entire thing can be removed and I can put the original back seat on and ride 2 up.

The Bracket that is mounted to the seat is really solid. I've only been up to probably about 60-65 with it on, but there have been no issues at all.

Thanks everyone for all the nice comments. Whenever I do something I like to try to keep things as clean as possible. It really was an easy mod, and i like that I can always swap to the original seat or just take the trunk off if I wanted to. I'll eventually be adding brake and turn signal lighting to the trunk...but that'll be down the road. Installing some DRL's soon just to be more "easily seen" by other motorists.
