To start off i have been lurking these boards for a while and i enjoy the tech articles and the DIY threads. Second i have a problem with my 2008 250r. I recently changed my front fairing, of course everyone knows that u have to take off the right and left ones also.
Well to get to the problem, when i started my ninjette the other day it was running rough, almost seemed like it was running on one cylinder. After starting it up and allowing enough time to warm up with it choked i released the choke and it idled really really low, like 500rpms. Well i got on it and road it home because i was on campus and while i was riding it was bogged down alot, then all of a sudden, BAM it kicked in and jerked me back. After that it road fine till i stopped again and then it started idling low again, took off from the top light and was bogging really bad, then BAM another kick and it was going again. Got home and it died. So i went out to start it again today and it hard started really bad and if i would put the choke on to warm it up it would die. Still sounded liek it was running on one cylinder again.
So today i decide to check it out and take off the right fairing and look at the ignition and move the three wires connected to thte pack for the one side. The white wire seemed to move slitely, nothing drastic. I start it up and it runs fine and i put it all back together and it road around the block and seemed fine. So i decided to let it cool off and see what it will do after i eat, but i am stumped.
On a side note, everything looked fine for vacuum lines to the carbs and the other side ignition wires seemed ok. The fuel is set to on not prime, and when i started the bike with all the fairings on before i had removed them the second time it did the same thing running rough and idle wierd, but after i removed them it ran fine. Wonder if i had pinched something on the reinstall of the fairings.
Any help would be good and any ideas welcomed. Just to put it into perspective before hand i had laid the bike over before and nothing mechanically was wrong with it just cosmetic. it only started doing this after i replaced the front fairing which entails taking everything off the front of the bike fairings wise.
Thanks in advance,
Mitchell
