sm0kediver March 5th, 2009, 01:48 PM I'm back. I sold my 2003 Ninja last Summer and went the Dual Sport route for a while. I still have one of my DS bikes... but I'm picking up a brand new 2009 Ninja 250 tommorrow at lunch (RED). I walked in a dealership today at lunch and got my first up close look at the new Ninja. I sat on it, and I was hooked.
I was already planned to go to my Dad's cabin in the mountains for the weekend, so I guess I'll take the bike up there and start the break in on some curvy roads. It's going to be 75 and sunny. I'll post pics.
kkim March 5th, 2009, 01:50 PM Congrats on the new bike. You will love it. :)

xTKx March 6th, 2009, 08:28 AM Good to have you back! Who can forget that avitar? :D I'm planning to get mine real soon as well (and yes, in the same beautiful red color). See ya around!
Sailariel March 6th, 2009, 09:14 AM Welcome back, and congrats on your new ride.
camaroz1985 March 6th, 2009, 09:44 AM Welcome. What kind of DS do you have?
sm0kediver March 6th, 2009, 12:24 PM Thanks for the friendly welcome. I just sold a KLR650, but I kept my DR200 because it's so good on trails. It also fits neatly on my hitch carrier so I can take it with me when I travel.
I picked up the 09 Ninja at lunch. Wow. I can already tell this is going to be fun. It now has 8 miles on it (the distance from the dealership to my office) and it was a fun 8 miles. Very similar to the old Ninja in the power department, but handling has improved (IMO, your mileage may vary). I'm looking forward to getting past break in so I can really open it up.
Pics to follow when I get home and get to a camera.

sm0kediver March 6th, 2009, 04:52 PM No pics today. I got home, changed clothes, and rode it until dark. There's noooo way I can keep it under 4k for the first 500 miles. I discussed that with the dealer, and he agreed. He said try for under 7. I'm shooting for 6...
It's my fourth motorcycle, and the best I have ever ridden. It truly rides like it's an extension of myself. Intuitive sort of. I am going to love it.
sm0kediver March 7th, 2009, 06:55 AM Here's a quick shot of the bike.
