View Full Version : Newbie from Danbury CT area
mjslive2fly August 30th, 2013, 06:06 PM Hi all,
New rider from Danbury, CT area. I did not opt for the 250 and picked up an 02 Suzuki GS500 instead (blasphemy I know but it was 1/2 the price and very clean at only 5K mi). Looking to meet up with locals and hopefully learn some great rides in the area.
400 mi and climbing since my MSF at the end of June. I'm planning on being out early AM tomorrow and will head toward Kent or other points N.

I wanted the 250 but my instructor had good things to say about the GS500 and I found one 25mi from me w/only 5k mi for $1500. It ran like crap but a couple of hours disassembling and cleaning the carbs and its like a swiss watch...
Cheapest '08+ 250 I could find was 3K...

Snake September 1st, 2013, 12:54 AM Hello and welcome.
tc.young September 1st, 2013, 07:03 AM welcome, the 500 class bikes aren't bad starters either, the other being the ninja 500. The GS is a little tamer being a older aircooled twin, looks like a cool little naked ish bike though. the newer ones try to hard to look like a sports bike.
