I need help, I bought a brand new ninja 300 canister used and fitted it to my '09 250r. After 2 weeks parked in a shop and 37 miles the end cap is starting to rust. I did a quick search and it seems to be a very common warranty issue. Though the warranty won't apply to me as I bought used. Is there a way to stop this and prevent it for the future??

some of the ninja 300 ehaust cans have been known to get a little surface rust, I think Kawasaki has even replaced a few..

it could be sanded/steel wooled down to a new finish, but you'll have to do something to prevent it from coming back (wax, clear coat, etc.).

Polish it all the durn time :( lightly oil it a bit after polishing, it's not chromed, not very good stainless, budget bike... I used to polish mine a lot, I gave up. It's just gonna do what it does an I'm gonna buy somethin good later

rust off or electrolysis, then seal it before exposing it to oxygen.
