FINALLY took some updated pics, bike is about 65% done. Still have a shift shaft seal leak that I need to fix. New battery is charging for the first time, then I am going to power her up and see if she turns over. Then on with the list.

Nice project :)

Noticed a bikebandit box, if you dont already have one. Use code r6forum for 10% off. Every little bit helps, good luck on that first start up

well I got a bit of a hiccup on her, I missed kinda poor shape the shift shaft seal was in when I had the motor/tranny on the bench. When I filled her up with fluids, it started weeping. i am going to attempt the replace the seal without taking the cover back off, if successful its a 15min job, if not - and i have to remove the cover - its a shocks, rear brake, torque arms, wheel, diff, swingarm, shaft, cover, seal job.

thanks for the kind words guys, i am really getting excited about it. it was such a piece of crap when i got it - now its turning into a decent bike

^^^ yeah i have been trying to

the only reason i am going to try and pull the seal with the cover on is so i don't have to buy another $15 gasket when i pull the cover - I have the worst luck with gaskets

Interesting project! I can't wait to see the final product :)

I was thinking of doing a similar thing myself, but with a 2000 Ninja 250
But I'm too lazy ;)

Guy up the street from me has a dropped/mild crashed Suzuki Katana 600.
He's asking $500 ... It needs new tires, windshield, chain, and minor fairing work
4004 miles, not sure of year ...
I might buy it and use it as a project bike :)

Today I saw a guy with a little Suzuki 650 single cruiser. I guess it started as a Savage or Boulevard S40, but he chopped the back seat, rear fender, etc. and turned it into a very minimalistic bobber. Very nice looking...

I want a cool project to work on. Right now isn't the time though. I really want to do a bike build. I'd like to do a car build ('68 Mustang Fastback in Dark Highland Green), but that takes up way too much room and requires a large assortment of tools. Bikes on the other hand...

:D

Build is coming along nicely. :)
