View Full Version : Evolution of the Ninja
Nemy March 10th, 2009, 02:26 PM After a nice 60km ride in -4 weather to pick her up, here's a teaser of the (stock) 2009 Special Edition 250r I got sitting in my garage. I'll update this thread when I get my mods put on.
Here's the list so far:
Leovince slip on
Snorkel removal and shimming
Fender cut
Shock Racing rear turn signals
Flush mount front turn signals
Progrip grips
Progrip tank pad
and possibly some Monster decals

miks March 11th, 2009, 05:10 AM Nice bike. Does this bike come with green rim tape from the factory or did you purchase them?
OldGuy March 11th, 2009, 07:22 AM '09 SE's come with the green rim tape :D
Nemy March 11th, 2009, 12:07 PM thanks. and yup. that, the white vinyls and the "special edition" sticker is what we pay an extra $150 for
azia March 16th, 2009, 06:27 PM rim twins!! :D
so glad to hear you got the bike considering some ppl on the other forum paid back in july!
ps: are you going to lower this one to match his older sister? :D:D:D heheheh.
Nemy March 16th, 2009, 08:44 PM ps: are you going to lower this one to match his older sister? :D:D:D heheheh.
HER older sister! and no lol, the height is perfect and I don't even notice the difference between the two... Definitely wanna see how yours turned out though.
Nemy March 31st, 2009, 02:19 PM So I rode down to musselman's lake to take some photos of the new Leovince... then I got home and realized it tinted everything blue
Anyways, the pipe sounds great. A nice deep growl to keep the cagers around me awake :D Without the db killer insert, it was borderline loud. With it in, it's perfect - not TOO loud but nice enough to cover some wind/engine noise.
So all of the cosmetics are done up except for the flushmount front sigs I'll do when it gets warmer. That and I still have to shim the needles and change out the grips.

:mad::mad: so I didn't feel like driving back up to the lake, but I'll try to get some true color photos ASAP.
Mista Bob March 31st, 2009, 02:37 PM Is that the Ninja 250 Muzzy 2 into 1 exhaust on your ZZR-250?
If so, does it fit fine with the fairing of the ZZR?
B2FiNiTY March 31st, 2009, 06:20 PM How does it run with that setup? Have you re-jet?

no, everything on my zzr is stock.

stock settings and it runs fine, though I think Leo specifically says it can go on stock. There is more of a flat spot up to 5k rpm, though, so that's what I intend to fix with shimming.

that should fix it. pull the snorkel off at the same time.... not before.
Mista Bob April 1st, 2009, 12:19 AM no, everything on my zzr is stock.
Oh, my ZZR didn't come with polished/chrome header pipes. :(

azia April 6th, 2009, 12:06 PM Oh snap!!!
How about one of us on each side of ya?? We can be your wings and help you actually go make the speedlimit. :D

ya the green bikes definitely need two black ones to slow us down (not that I ever drive above the speedlimit ). Thanks for pointing it out to everyone :D
